rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I was just thinking that a zombie game based off World War Z or the Walking Dead would be neat.

Would you prefer a game where the characters arrive near the beginning of the plague as it's about to spread, or after the world's already fallen and most of the npcs are ragtag survivors or towns that managed to stick it out?

Maybe the jamjar summoning device macguffin was meant to prevent the apocalypse but was never finished, and some npc survivors managed to find it and get it working - but the world's too far gone to save and there's no way home so the characters just have to survive as best they can, while new people are falling into the trap every day...

i'd prefer if things were already pretty well fucked, with characters having to rely on each other rather than some npc support group. it'd force a lot more exploration, too, since i share above anon's nervousness about the game turning into something that's more slice of life with occasional zombie invasion events.

i'd also like if it was less of a jamjar and more about exploration, albeit as a group. and i'm not exactly sure how the characters would be brought in, that's definitely up for discussion, especially since there would be characters apping in even after the initial group has been established

tbh i'm willing to go with whatever will attract the most players, especially since i'm pretty sure none of my current rp friends are interested in a zombie game

i'm dying for an au zombie game. it just adds so much more to it, having the characters attached to the world and people in the world and not thinking there's a way out of this world to their original.

the jamjar format just takes away from a zombie game for me.
