So who's excited for the new movie?

though i'm worried about all the woobie! javerts and possession sue! eponine's that will pop up :(

I write Eponine and I am absolutely terrified that she comes across as too needy. Though she's definitely not a self-insert. That much I can guarentee. But I would love some castmates!

...I will be surprised if people manage to woobify Javert. Considering he spends 97% of the movie seeming the cold and ruthless policeman. A lot of people don't catch his lines about having been born in a jail, usually because it's more important you hear the contrasting Valjean line.

Tbh rather than woobify him, I don't think they'll give him enough humanity. He will literally JUST be the cold, evil policeman chasing Valjean in particular and the underclass in general. If anyone's woobified it'll be Valjean. They'll ignore his ruthlesness and just make him a total force of good.

...Well, to be fair, in the musical at least: he loses a lot of his ruthlessness as time goes on. He spares Javert after Fantine dies, and even seems horrified he'd go that far.He blamed himself for Fantine being fired, even though it was the foreman who did it. I believe it's also a point in the book that even at the barricade, he shot to incapacitate, not kill. So I wouldn't say he's ruthless.

Bookverse Ami anon over on wankgate, just popping up here to say that I'm definitely rereading the parts of the book and totally plan to do this.

And, just as a question, are there any other bookverse players out there?

Me!!! I actually play both (just because more people know the musical!) but I prefer the book characters.
