Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Is it wrong that I have this irrational dislike when some of the characters are written focusing on a single trait?

Take the main three. Scott, Stiles and Derek.

Scott tends to end up being a complete idiot. Yeah, he's slow on the uptake sometimes but he's not that bad all the time.

Stiles tends to be written as a rambler who can't shut up. He has some long-running sentences but once again, he's not that bad. He's perfectly capable of using single, snarky, sentences instead of long paragraphs of verbal vomit.

And Derek tends to get the 'emotionless, unable to function in society' end of the stick. Which makes me wonder whether those people actually watched the show.

It's one thing to make a character trait noticeable but there's a line between what's 'fine' and what's way too much.

There was a post similar to this on tumblr floating around over the week, at least in regards to Stiles. King of one liners, not... talking endlessly about nothing in particular. I think it's fine to have him ramble some about the topic at hand but he's not going to walk up to someone and just tl;dr for no good reason about curly fries or whatever.

Oh whoa, no, I hadn't seen those actually - the one I'm thinking of ~~is lost in my likes somewhere~~ was a lot shorter, just said the bit about being the king of one-liners. But those are good posts, I will happily read both~
