there being more canon concerning the cherubs in the near future

there eventually being enough canon about the cherubs for people to app them into games

I'm worried that Caliborn rpers will tone him down for the sake of getting positive CR. It'd also be easy to turn him into a broken record churning out the same old lines about murder and smut - god knows people do similar rote simplification with every other homestuck character, and the quirkier the character is the worse it gets.

And with how the fandom projects onto calliope so much, I'm scared that lots of muns who pick her up will be the types to take any slight against the character or the way she's played very, very personally.

these are the dumbest fears i've ever heard. people doing these things is completely independent of getting more canon and/or roleplaying these characters.

I can understand those fears, as someone who has seen villains having their personalities toned down for the sake of getting CR. The smut thing can be a problem too for people who only try to play him for laughs and don't get that he's a seriously fucked up alien.

As for Calliope I do see where you're coming from, but I don't think you need to worry. tbh we don't harp on people here as badly as we used to. There are a lot of people already playing Calliope and Caliborn in places like d_m and I think they're pretty good so far. The only ones that are known to be in a game are in demeleier and they're pretty decent from what I have seen. Don't sweat it so much anon the intermission only just began, so lets see what happens.
