This person has been in the game with this character a couple of months longer than I have, coming up on a year. They were from a new canon that I hadn't seen, and I didn't really care, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Our CR was okay at first, but it stopped being fun for me, the character just wasn't all that interesting to play off of, honestly. But I didn't say anything because I didn't know the canon and assumed they were IC.

So, cue last month and I do finally see this movie. Now that I've been going back to read the old stuff, the voice is just wrong. Completely wrong. Even taking into account settling into the environment, it just isn't right.

I don't know how to tell someone 'So, you invested a year's worth of time into this, but you've really botched it, both from a keeping them IC perspective, as well as a keeping them engaging perspective.' Even if I word it well, and offer as much help as possible, the problem is how the player is meant to salvage that character after building for so long on a rotten foundation.

I was just wondering if anyone has noticed similar problems, and what you did. Or if you've ever been that player, and what did you end up doing with your character?

i've been in my first real rp for a few months now. it's been really hard for me to tag out and make posts and i'm not sure why. i've been good with keeping up the tags i do have and i tag back in a timely fashion, and i make ac without problems.

i'm worried rping outside of museboxes isn't for me, because i love the cr i have and the game i'm in. it could be an anxiety/depression/stress-related thing which i'm hoping it's not. i'd call a hiatus, but i'm worried i won't have the motivation to return from it.

any advice? inspiration to get into the tagging mode or for making posts? is this common? help a worried autist out, anons.

The best advice you can get is don't get upset/worried/anxious over no tags or dropped tags. It's the biggest disease of the RP world, everyone does it, not a single person doesn't and they say they do, they're lying. It happens, don't take offence at it, and just move on to try other things. Sooner or later, something will stick for you. Your RP experience will be more free and enjoyable if you don't put so much stock into shit out of your control. Just scroll on, and realise that not everything you post or tag is going to eventuate into things... in fact, most of it won't. It's when you do find stuff that sticks that makes it worth the revolving door.

I feel bad because I don't remember ever dropping a meme tag over bad grammar before, but I can't come up with an excuse other than the player's laziness for not ending half their sentences with periods and neglecting commas altogether. I'm not sure if they're just messily tagging via their phone or what but it's distracting. :/

Ask them if they're phone tagging. I've done this before. When they asked why I asked, I brought up all the sloppy typos and grammar. Their tags improved massively after that, and it didn't lead to any wank.

i snagged a username i wanted on tumblr, but i don't want to change my main blog to it because i like having the same username on different sites. i have the username on dw as an icon journal but obviously tumblr is not the place for that. what should i do with it? it's not a fandom related username so turning it into a tumblr rp blog is out.

So I do smut with underaged characters sometimes. It's not something I'm terribly ashamed of, but also something I'd rather do under a sock for reasons I hope are obvious.

Right now I kind of want to play a smut scene with a specific underage character. The problem is that I'm literally the only one who plays her in all of journal RP, and it's not likely that there'll ever be another. It would be incredibly obvious it was me.

I'll be honest - a friend and I want to join a game to play out a ship. This ship also happens to be yaoi.

HOWEVER. We'll both tag others in a wide range of canons as well as our casts and we enjoy having all the CR. We're not the sorts to neglect our other tags just to focus on our ships. It's just that working up to a ship in a game setting is more exciting than in a musebox and we'd really like to do it in a game that won't look down on us building up to what happens to be a yaoi ship. (we're not what you'd call yaoi fangirls - we ship het and yuri too. We'd just really like to play this particularly ship out).

SO. Are there any games out there that won't judge us for this? Or are we doomed to memes and museboxes for fear of only care about yaoi?
