hallelujahnnn

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.
Do not solicit money, Dreamwidth points, or other currency unless you are offering a good or service in return.

Also sometimes people just don't click or get along and that's okay. You not being best friends forever with Susie doesn't meant she needs to be banned from everywhere because you guys dislike one another. It's possible to just avoid one person in a game. I promise, I've done it.

This! There are people I have acknowledged (in my head or to friends) I don't like *personally* or don't like how they play their character, but are not bad people. I just stay in my lane.

Yeah I definitely don't vibe with everyone and even really dislike a few people, but they're not terrible just because I don't like them, we just don't click. It's just impossible for everyone to like everyone! I don't get where people get the energy to try to run someone out of the hobby for not getting along with them in a minor and everyday way three years ago or whatever. The most I do is complain to my best friend in private and then I get over it? It's not hard lol

This. And if you have beef with someone? Shut up about it.

that's definitely true for everyone else, but you need to understand the person i am talking about is an exception and deserves to be run out of rp.

i can't prove it and my deets are a decade old, but anoncomms let me throw smoke and make people sure there's fire, so they serve a vital role in rp by making certain the person who REALLY deserves it gets shunned.

yeah i don't appreciate the real problems people have had with certain widely banned parties being minimized to "weird vibes"

oh shut the fuck up, if the person we're talking about can't be mentioned on rpanons it's because nobody's actually defending them

which means whoever you have a bug up your ass about isn't as bad as them and you know it

Re: What would make modding better?

people seem to try to point to actual agreed upon problem players in dw (as in people who have been widely banned even in meme comms and so forth) to try to paint people they had minor or nothing issues with the same brush, which has always been weird to me. there are people who maybe have one argument and say something stupid and then move on to do nothing interesting for the rest of time and yet still years later get brought up by the other side as the devil. this goes for players who have a fight or mods who make one unpopular decision that nevertheless isn't the end of the world like an unpopular event or whatever.

i've watched it play out multiple times before and i always wish people would try taking a break before dragging up shit that isn't really that bad and happened years ago with no repeats.

it works. people remember that the person got namedropped.

yeah, it does. :/ it makes me wonder how many of us are falling for tabloids in the real world news.

I read the whole thread and the above comment is still borderline word salad 🥗

Okay let me break it down for you since you seem to lack the literacy to do it yourself

"i don't appreciate the real problems people have had with certain widely banned parties being minimized to "weird vibes""

This, in a thread objecting to the tendency on anoncomms of recklessly slandering people for no goddamn reason, seems to be implying that the people we think are being recklessly slandered are all akin to persons who literally can't be named on this comm, like the former head mod of a certain Yakuza-based game, and that the myriad sins those persons committed were being minimized to weird vibes.

"oh shut the fuck up, if the person we're talking about can't be mentioned on rpanons it's because nobody's actually defending them"

This, in reply to the above, pretty self-evidently means "We're not talking about the head mod of the fucking Yakuza game"

"which means whoever you have a bug up your ass about isn't as bad as them and you know it"

This, following upon the previous statement, pretty self-evidently means "Using the head mod of the Yakuza game as cover for smearing your own personal vendetta all over the anoncomms is disingenuous and you know it."

Re: What would make modding better?

(Anonymous) 2025-12-03 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
for what it's worth i wasn't talking about the yakuza game mod either

i think it's telling as hell they started with sex pests

Re: What would make modding better?

(Anonymous) 2025-12-03 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
it was an example

the real sex pests also are a far cry from the vibes based bullshit that gets passed around

and you know, as you knew before, exactly what the fuck i meant.

Re: What would make modding better?

(Anonymous) 2025-12-04 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
OP of the comment here to confirm that it was just an example and tbh I thought you were trolling when you posted your first reply because it confirmed my bad faith hypothesis. sex pest was the first term that came to mind because I have seen it used often in the past on anon comms, which is probably also why it was the first example to dawn on me and be used in the comment. But since you are apparently a very literal person, allow me to rephrase.

"That person's vibe is weird? They must be a [bad faith take of your choice goes here] and I'm going to get them banned from every game out there."

is that better?

Re: What would make modding better?

(Anonymous) 2025-12-04 12:30 pm (UTC)(link)
don't use sex pests as "as example" again, that shit is not the same.

Re: What would make modding better?

(Anonymous) 2025-12-04 12:35 pm (UTC)(link)
da but dude you are reaching. this person isnt whoever you think they are just because they are saying sometimes people are mislabelled as sex pests over things that are not actually that. the example was "people who are called sex pests even though they aren't". if that doesn't apply to who you are thinking of, then they aren't a part of the example.

this conversation is like arguing about 2016 ghostbusters where you mention that there was a lot of ott virulent misogyny before the movie even came out and then fifty guys pile on to say STOP SAYING EVERYONE WHO DIDN'T LIKE THE MOVIE HATES WOMEN
