Is there a graceful way to handle dialogue splicing? I like the person I'm playing with, but carrying on three separate conversations per tag is killing me. I don't want them to think I'm getting lazy/not paying attention, but I'd REALLY like to get this down to one conversation.

Pick the topic you want to narrow the conversation down to and disregard everything else. Jam a couple lines about the other topics inside brackets/outside dialogue if you don't want it to look like you're lazy or whatever.

i just had a really surreal experience

someone freaked out on me for playing my character ridiculously ooc and getting everything about her absolutely wrong and she didn't even look right in the icons

except i was playing a completely different character than they thought i was

same franchise but a different canon (one of those ones with multiple shows/movies/etc. that all have their own separate canon), they don't look or act anything alike and don't even have similar-sounding names. her name was in the name field and tags, the username has fuckall to do with the character they thought she was, my icons were clearly not that character...i have zero idea why they thought she was supposed to be someone else.

i tried to be polite and act like it was somehow a legitimate mistake, but their only reaction was "fine, have it your way" like they did't really believe me. i don't think they're a troll because they commented under their regular account, but they're not a member of the game and i don't really post to drs or memes so i don't know how they even found my character. it's like they came out of nowhere purely to be dumb at me.

i have no idea how to feel about this, it's just so bizarre
