What is the general consensus on activity requirements for newer games?

Is 5-10 a month considered the norm, or have we shifted over to check-in style? It’s been a bit and I wanna check out the economy so to speak.

i'd say 5-10 is still the mainstay ime

I personally think the sweet spot is 10 comments over two threads. Meaning you have to at least tag out.

Check in games I've noticed are slower and there's really nothing to give players a reason to tag out a lot if there's no reward system.

Do you think a reward system fixes that problem sufficiently or do you think they still err on the slower side regardless?

Depends on the player base you attract.

The games that I've been in that switched to check in suffered because they didn't bother to have a reason to tag out when they made the switch. No AC means someone doesn't have to play and can coast along just tagging their buddies or not at all.

Adding in a reward system months later after people already slowed down. It didn't really kick start anything. You lose the players that would make use of it by that point

I as a player like having a reward system because it gives me a goal. If I tag out and have let's say 100 tags and each tag is worth a point and to earn a reward it starts at 50-100 points. It means I'm going to need to tag out for at least 5-10 threads over the course of the next few months.

It might not be needed for AC but it means if I engage more I get more

this. some player groups really don't need AC or rewards to tag; pixie led is poppin' despite a lack of either. others do. if you want your game to be fast paced, you almost definitely need AC.

pixie led is ALSO full of squatters. plenty of people here i've only seen on the taken list and not actually in game.

+1 ik alot of ppl use their inboxes in pixeled but there's still so many squatters who don't even bother with that much

not at pixieled but at another and it's always gonna be a mix. you'll have people who actively want to play and are doing it all month long, and a group of players that may as well be set dressing.

I won't play in a game with no ac, personally, even if there is a reward system. But that's because my past experiences led me to associate it with flakes
