the intrinsic sexiness of bog creatures

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Do not solicit money, Dreamwidth points, or other currency unless you are offering a good or service in return.
Discussion of or soliciting RP for celebrities or other non-fictionalized versions of real people is not allowed.

DREAMWIDTH TOOLS ON CHROME

people on my plurk tl are saying it's not able to turn on in extensions anymore - what's the fix?

Re: DREAMWIDTH TOOLS ON CHROME

correct, looks like the option to turn unsupported extensions back on was only temporary and chrome won't let you reinstall them anymore. afaik there is no fix besides switching browsers.

Any browsers one would recommend for Chromebook users? I have a desktop and don't use chrome there, but my laptop is a Chromebook and I'd like to have an alternative for that when I do use it

fellow chromebook user here, and unfortunately, we are fucked. firefox mobile can run lj juggler, i believe, but no other browser will give us even close to the plugin accessibility we had before google decided to go nuclear.

i tried to google alternatives for chromebook for you guys but all i found was "run linux/android." sorry guys... you'll probably have to go the text expander or macro route

ayrt, I honestly just need to use the juggler I don't use anything else (aside from ad blockers of course). So if Firefox works, I shall swap to firefox.

whatever browser you need to pull up a website where you can buy a real computer, chromebooks are unusuably dogshit

It was a gift from my mom, man. Also it's a few years old so like, bought when chromebooks were not considered so shitty.

(also I only use it to watch youtube and do DWRP when I'm away from home, so it works for that purpose perfectly.)

is it perfect tho?

chrome is increasingly violently anticonsumer and good luck getting anything besides chrome to work on that thang

Are there any other extensions that aren't out of date and could do the same "highlight text to insert HTML around it" thing that DW Tools does? They don't need to be DW specific, just anything that could save me the trouble of manually typing the HTML for every TFLN tag (or having to have it handy to copy and paste).

i have a mouse with multiple buttons that i made into macros with x-mouse (so on one button "" and "" on the other. not that versatile though if you want multiple shortcuts, not unless you have a ton of buttons

i think magical: ai autofill can be an alternative but i stopped using it because it went paid, you might be able to find an alternative to it. nothing else is coming to mind for me but i'll try to dig

oh. ok. right i forgot html doesn't work anon. so basically first half with the code to set the font or size or whatever and second button to close it

doesn't insert around but looks like Free Auto Text Expander is an expansion still in the store that could work too

supposedly this is the fix

hacky way to get around it

why tf y'all using chrome when there are so many other better browsers available

Re: DREAMWIDTH TOOLS ON CHROME

(Anonymous) 2025-07-12 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
are there any other browsers out there either: based on Chrome but not nuclear, where the extensions will work? or: possess equivalent tools?

(if you want to come in and insist firefox containers are better, then please point to somewhere that explains HOW to use them for that purpose. every time someone starts talking about them, they never offer any context or information except how great they are. i just! want! to know how they work and how to use them! before i blindly switch!)

(also i would really miss some features of dwtools like journal blocking and one-click tagging)
