your explanation that things are allowed but aren't the focus of the game makes it clearer! i would say the problem with allowing pregnancy is that EVERYONE with certain cr has to be okay with pregnancy and sometimes that is something that holds up cr or problems in game. especially if the baby/egg is taken away right away, because that's the kind of story that some people would enjoy writing out, but there's a lot of people who wouldn't want to and that could divide cr circles.

that's not your problem as the mod obviously everyone is an adult and will have to handle their own side of things, it's just one of the reasons that pregnancy has stopped being allowed.

i think you should write out all your ideas and start developing premise/info pages and go from there. you def can roll with this if you want to, but make sure you really are set in your rules and ideas before you put it all out there.

captcha can be shown to people from certain IP addresses or sometimes people who use vpns, dependently! if you were curious about why. sometimes denise has turned it on for entire areas when bad actors though she doesn't like to.

i wouldn't worry about it. they'll add you or not as they choose and it's not uncommon for people to try to add gamemates. if it concerns you just start asking on plotting post top-levels if you can add people.

i've had it go on because i wrote a long reply. no html or code or anything. just a long reply. and i know it's that because i trimmed it down and i could post it without captcha. the metrics for captcha mystify me.

Thinking about checking this game out and had some questions.

1. How active is it?
2. Anything you wish you had known/done differently as a new player?
3. Are there pros/cons vs. Peacock? Assuming you've played or are familiar with both.
4. What's your favorite aspect of the game? Anything, like a mechanic or lore bit or the player-base.

1. Medium-ish, I'd say? People love to backtag. Don't expect boomerangs, most here have jobs.
2. Picked a more morally grey character. Goodie two-shoes can struggle here because of the game's themes.
3. Less anime, more live action. Less people who want to RP with younger muses. Thirty plus is a common preference here. It's a pro for me but was a con for my friends in Peacock.
4. Canon variety. Even though it's more on the live action side it's not just a MCU fest.

1. Slow to fast, depends on your CR. Feels like it's slowed down recently but then it's such an old game that it kind of just fluctuates depending on the event/how much time people put into it.
2. Don't play a Dom if you don't want to manage business stuff. Even if you don't want a business, if your character's sub wants to run a business you'll still need to keep track of it. This isn't actually that hard, but it adds up if that's not your thing. (Don't expect to get things quickly either, you have to wait to unlock stuff.)
3. Peacock's characters seem to lean more anime/teen, where Dup is more LA/older characters. I'm not in Peacock though so that's just the sense I get from other people.
4. The Dom/sub stuff when it's done well is great, but that's also the main draw for me. Being able to get custom citations from the mods is really cool.

cheating, but very specifically, the dynamic of "it's okay within the context of the relationship and the parties involved, including the person being cheated on, gets off on it happening without it being outright NTR/cuckoldry and the partner performing the act is doing it in part to get their partner fired up"

it's not even an extreme kink, just something that is skirting enough people's comfort zones that i don't even really want to risk bringing it up and making a good dynamic weird

custom citations and custom consequences for fucking with the city/authorities/gangs are one of the best aspects of the game, ia.

re: 3/4, I'll add that if you're after an overarching plot, there isn't much in dup - there's some vague lore in terms of setting that can kind of be played around with, but outside of events, there's not much going on and it'll be on you to find ways for your character to engage with the city/setting. in that respect, it's a game that's very dependent on the cr you end up with in terms of how much you're going to get out of it (ie. how much the darker aspects of the game are leant into, the d/s dynamics, anything and everything to do with the down etc).

it can sometimes feel like there are two different playerbases who've somehow ended up in the same game as not everyone does want to engage with the darker aspects and prefers to hold party logs, but that can either be positive or a negative depending on what you're after, i guess.

there was recently an ooc survey where a lot of feedback seemed to be around the lack of plot and while the game's not going to suddenly have that in abundance, the mods do seem to be making an effort to include more lore and environmental aspects to engage with.

actually, to add -- you can change character designations once totally, but i'd definitely recommend having a think about the kind of arc you'd want to take with your character. apping a dom allows for a lot more avenues and freedoms, but there are benefits to playing a sub in terms of the challenges they face in the setting if that's something that interests you.

the mcu cast isn't even that active. hilariously, the comics guys are around more.

there's a fairly decent amount of cross-canon/medium cr too. most people don't get weird about it.

Side question from another anon looking: is it impossible or just harder to get traction as an anime/vg player?

i've stepped back from an rp partner who does this. i get that it's a brain thing and a self-esteem thing but i can only take so much of pouring praise and interest and initiative into the same person repeatedly, when they never seem to reciprocate that effort to anyone else. maybe it'd be different if i see these people make efforts and get turned down or ignored but i think they just take the players in their inbox or patting their butt for granted.

It's very possible. A lot of them play with other anime/vg characters and casts, but a decent chunk also play with other mediums (and vice versa - I see LA canons seeking out threads with the anime/vg canons)

i play a vg character and having no issues. very much a looks and personality thing

legit wondering if i'm particularly deviant for wanting noncon as an option in an extreme kink game

you aren't, but there are already games that allow it and lots of memes that give people who want to play that an outlet. if a player complains about something within a thread and brings it to a mod i need to be able to read that thread and noncon, outside of really specific plot heavy circumstances, isn't something i really want to be in a position of having to read. it can also be a source of a specific subspecies of wank i wouldn't want to deal with.
