Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for fictional character role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

To new anons who have come here from Insanejournal, welcome! This comment is a reminder to please read our rules and to serve as an explanation of some of our conventions. rpanons is for discussion of Dreamwidth-based fictional character roleplaying only; players in our particular RP sphere do not play celebrities or (non-fictionalized) real people, and as of this post, we do not allow ads for games or individual PSLs/lines seeking such.

anonnnies seems to be a hub for current and former Insanejournal celeb RP anons here, and

fail_fandomanon is a general anon fandom discussion community that has regular threads about RPF, though we cannot personally vouch for the content of either community. If there are any other such communities springing up, we welcome links to them so we can direct anons to where they'd like to go.

If you do play fictional characters and are interested in finding out about the culture here, our General DWRP Questions thread is a great place to start. We also have multiple threads linked at the top of the post you may comment to if you're seeking to join a game or want to offer your characters for one-on-one PSLs/lines.

enablemeplz is a meme that goes up on the second Saturday of every month which serves the same purpose, but reaches a much wider audience.

One thing to note is that we have long valued the IC/OOC divide- that is, we recognize that we are not our characters, and that roleplaying something does not mean the player endorses such in real life. Any attempts to start wank along these lines will be frozen or deleted as appropriate.

I've had a lot of cheesy urban fantasy YA romance series (Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, Twilight, etc.) on in the background lately and I've been itching to play a PSL inspired by those tropes. Something where a mortal and a supernatural creature meet and eventually fall in love, and in between those two points there's a lot of drama, mortal peril, some adventures, a lot of will-they-won't-they, maybe some breaking up and dating the rest of the cast, that sort of thing.

Obviously keeping track of a huge cast of characters can be tricky, so just one long thread between two characters is perfectly fine with me! That said, I would also find it fun to gradually add more and more distinct characters as the thread progress.

As for other preferences:
- Canon characters, OC, or both, and crosscanon is also fine!
- Open to f/f, m/m, m/f, and we can do more than one in the same PSL.
- I mostly play from anime and video games but I can make OCs of any style/genre and have no medium divide.
- I'm biased towards werewolves, vampires, and demons, but I am more than happy to include basically any sort of supernatural creature.
- I will play either side of the mortal/supernatural split

Basically, there's a lot we can discuss privately, so send me a message if this seems interesting!
