i'm writing a smut thread as a canon pillow queen and having a surprising amount of fun! i like writing the duality of them being too prideful to let themselves react openly and internally being very, very into it. it's also fun coming up with small, subconscious ways they approve.

bonus that it's fun to read the top going all in because he wants to drive the bottom nuts so he'll react more openly, the desperation is really cute (and sad, i really feel for the top). i just hope the other person is having fun too! i worry about not giving them enough. canon is canon and all, but staying flexible in rp keeps things fun. especially with this kinda setup.

good for you anon!! as someone who loves threads with canon (key word) pillow queens, the thing that keeps it fun is that internal narrative, so it sounds like you're doing it right! obviously i can't speak for all top-writers, but i def prefer when the pillow queening feels IC and stays that way and gives my character more incentive to figure the other one out (as opposed to kinda throwing in the towel for fear of losing the player's interest).

thank you anon!! i'm surprised to hear it but also glad, this was one of my concerns when picking up the character. i like the figuring things out angle though, whether that's between the sheets or just gen reactions. characters striving to understand each other is really fun to play out, at least for me!

really curious how you know a character is a canon pillow queen, i'm not gonna lie. unless it's a character from a yaoi or something, isn't that just a headcanon?

Danmei characters often have assigned roles in bed & we get to see how they act in sexual situations.

yeah and there are a few people who play from bl in bs and games that i've seen and they usually keep their role and overall dynamic

other anon got it. the canon pillow queen i'm playing is from a danmei, we see how he reacts during sex multiple times.

i'm kind of surprised by this question bc there are plenty of canons these days that either depict or mention how characters act in bed, and danmeis and BL games definitely aren't the only ones

this sounds fun actually, i'd be down to write w someone who understood this/didn't do it as a mechanism. i think if something is very ic, then anything goes/the characterization no's of rp don't apply (re: pillow queen stuff). glad you're having fun anon!!
