Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

It’s your right as a mod to do this and if you only want to run a game with non-LA characters you should make a go of it.

There will be wank and there is no escaping that, but being upfront about what you want is a lot better than opening the game to all comers and then trying to control the roster after the fact. I recall a game that literally died of curtailing what characters under 18 could participate in re: plots and events, after opening the doors to all comers initially.

For my .02 on the rule itself, I don’t play any LA characters, but I would generally find such a rule off-putting, no matter the medium it excluded. Mods make the game but don’t necessarily need to adore every character in game. Players and characters that the mod has little interest in rping with could really add to the experience for others. I think it’s generally better to take an inclusive attitude that offers more opportunities for fun when it comes to dwrp, as opposed to making a million arbitrary rules and barriers to doing things that are fun, and offering more opportunities for play to a wider cast of characters can offer more opportunities for fun.
