happy new year everyone! congrats on making it through 2022 and i hope 2023 will bring you lots of joy!! what’s your new year’s resolution, rp-related or not?

had an idea for a pokemon game based in a new region a bit of time after legends: arceus focused on face-to-face interactions, quests, the option of fighting wardens/town leaders, participating in shows or simply unraveling the lore to either get back home or stay where they are, with a bit of an overarching plot that carries the game along and gives people things to do all while keeping laidback as an ooc environment (easy ac, maybe invite only? idk). was thinking less slice of life and more something interactive, including an antagonist group to help shake things up from time to time. thing is..... i do not have time to mod!

anyone interested in picking a project like that up (with the option to then have helper mods send apps in and join the team, or call in friends you know would like to help)? i already have the journal names and some of the coding done, but even that is something i do not have the proper time to invest in to come out in a timely manner. with my pacing and life priorities, it's going to take.... forever. i could probably help from the sidelines with the general ideas and planning, but i'd need help to come up with the bulk remaining, including world-building and monthly events to keep it from being too boring. i basically imagine something not overly complicated in gameplay, but at the same time still fun to be in and play out if adventure is in your tastes.

A new one so early?

in general: do more of what I want and less of what I don't want, which sounds trite but I'm tired of putting myself out there to be helpful to people who don't appreciate it, and deserve to put that time into me and my joy

in rp: complain less. it takes away time from what I enjoy

I'm working on an OC who's your ordinary example of its animal species physically but human-like in sentience and language. Now I'm beginning to feel tempted to take them to a game, so I wanted to hear what experiences others have made with playing animal characters in games (canon or original)? Anything I should be particularly attentive towards? What can I expect in terms of CR? I'm aware that the combination of an OC and animal physique might mean I need to put in a good deal more work to get play, but that's fine! I could just really need some pointers, have never tried playing an animal character before.

ime some games flat out won't accept a talking animal in their premise, even if the faq says nonhuman characters are appable, so it's best to ask the mod team before you reserve/app

people will just assume you're a furry and will either avoid you or not depending on how they feel about furries

fantasy and gen games will probably react better than adult or smut games

You can't even remember how you got here.

All you know is that one moment you were in a world you were used to, comfortable in. It might have been a regular day or the most important day of your life. You wake up in what seems like the blink of an eye, nauseous and dizzy but otherwise unscathed, barefoot and dressed only in a set of plain grey clothing, trapped in an empty room. You start to lose track of time, the only sound the distant ticking of what sounds like a massive clock.

Just when things seem hopeless, when you feel like you're about to go mad, there's the sound of a commotion outside your door, and when the door opens, there's someone there ready to whisk you away. There's an opportunity to fight back.

Set on the Broken world, Annexed is a sci-fantasy panfandom game. Characters are kidnapped by the Sylphid, a race of magical creatures who reproduce by hollowing out the bodies of sentient creatures and inhabiting them, but immediately freed by an underground rebellion group called the Witches who seek to restore the world to what it was before the Sylphid annexed it. Characters joining the Witches are promised either a new home on their restored world, or access to the magitech that brought them to this world so they can return to their own. They are also tied to the energy of one of the planets - Heba or Tian - which will grant them the opportunity to develop different powers, and tasked with finding a Tether with someone tied to the energy of the opposite planet in order to maintain their energy balance lest they die slowly while losing their minds.
