Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.
Rules:
Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

My tweaks:
- SOL is not an issue, tone deafness is an issue; in fact I’d argue that a game like this NEEDS SOL like baking cookies, it just needs to be tonally appropriate. Survival is not just high octane fights, it’s also patrols, gathering supplies, cooking, securing the area, deciding who sleeps where, all sorts of things. Survival situations DO include lots of quiet moments and interpersonal drama because it’s human. You have to be chill about people doing twee shit because humans will find a way to do twee shit to stay sane; you just have to foster an environment where the twee shit makes sense or speaks to the environment. If a pet did show up, it could get people killed by making noise/running off, it is a drain on food. Characters should argue this. If characters use a cooking shift to flirt and throw flour at each other or make something fancy that uses too many ingredients, other characters should be allowed to object to the waste. This is wholly on players being on board to not let the environment/tone/setting decay.
- I don’t think a hard rule for participation is super necessary, just ask people to have reasonable expectations for their participation level and set up events so they can move at the speed of plot and not a 1:1 ratio to our calendar.
- Events should vary in size; smaller events are just as valuable for character moments as larger ones.
- The best zombie apocalypse media focuses on life and survival, not zombie origin stories. The rebuilding of communities and new status quos are more interesting than “how we got here.”
- I started a private game like this years ago, but I think a setting like this works best if you ask everyone to approach it as a multiplayer PSL rather than a traditional “game” because the survival setting loses a lot of power if there’s any sort of “you arrive here/you can vanish at any moment” inter-dimensional/magical bullshit. If people show up, it should be because they found the safety of the community/compound and decided to stay. If they leave, it should be because they set off on their own or died. I would love for characters to just be able to be AU’d into this situation.
