Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not post personal information. This includes but is not limited to full names, addresses, phone numbers and so on.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

da but ehhh i feel like it's on the line, though. loads of deliberately racist stuff tries to excuse itself as "just a joke", and if someone looks at something tonedeaf concerning race and isn't comfortable/doesn't like it, then that's valid.

don't think it's worth ~~cancelling~~ the show or shaming anyone who likes it, but it's a legitimate reason if an individual doesn't like it.

it's tonedeaf on culture/country shit but it's not about race. there is nothing racist about kenya being represented by a zebra-skin clad warrior, at least anymore racist than canada being represented by a lumberjack. the pilot isn't portrayed as a savage or anything, nor is he even drawn in a racist way (https://i.imgur.com/NvK4Mxx.png).

this is genuinely stretching to be offended by "it's a small world" level harmless country stereotypes. it's not racist. if you don't like it, that's fine, but an anon called it racist and it's not.

when the joke isn't actually saying anything racist? it's not really different. like anon said, there's no negative racial stereotypes here or belittling of african people or even of the african character that pilots it. like anon said, this is basically "it's a small world" but with giant robots.

no one is saying anyone has to like it, but you you can not like it and find those jokes dumb or tonedeaf without having to leap to acting like it's racist. i say this as someone who's largely indifferent to the show.
