seriously though, if you 'keep' getting rejected then you are either doing something wrong by dwrp standards (app too short, no references to canon, wildly ooc headcanons/CRAU development/etc) or else you are known to be a bad or problematic player. you can ask for help for the former, but probably not the latter.

looks like i shouldn't have used the word keep, i don't have a 100% rejection rate, it's just high enough that i'm sick of people saying how piss easy apps are when they have been getting more difficult over the years

try comparing acceptable apps from when we migrated to DW to what's acceptable now, there's a huge difference between the two

i feel like they're easier now though? i remember the days of no linking history sections, no bullet points allowed, and making a literal competition out of trying to have 5-10 page long apps

my suggestion would be to have someone canon familiar read over your app. if you don't know anyone, post here with a sock asking for a proofread for x canon y character. it could be as simple as too many small mistakes? do you ask the mods why you were rejected? they will tell you if you ask for specifics

Overall I think apps are much easier now, although they do expect much more in a personality section in that it should be detailed but concise. I know I got away with a lot of two paragraph personality sections back in the day that wouldn't fly now, though now pretty much everything else about an app is easier.

I would definitely ask mods what you did wrong, especially if it's a flat out rejection instead of revisions. It may be the writing itself or the quality of a section, or it may be as simple as not being careful to include everything expected in an app/apping a character type that isn't allowed in game. My general advice is to make sure to reread all the application info and usually the FAQ at least once before writing an app, if you don't already do that.

i've been rping on lj/dw since 2006 and apps are definitely far easier now than they used to be. it was a pain in the ass when you played a character who had a bunch of powers and you weren't allowed to link to their wiki to explain the powers, you had to write up the entire thing (plus their history, like you said) yourself.

these days you can just link a history and powers and the only thing you actually need to write yourself is the personality and samples.

they're way easier now, idk why ayrt is talking about. remember suitability sections?

if you're one of the scum tier players you should probably pack it in but if you're not you're probably lying, so??? just write your app by the guidelines given in the examples.
