As the person who started the thread I wouldn't claim any ecchi manga/anime/etc to be some great masterpiece, just this one pinged me and I thought maybe I could find people who'd want to RP it or something. Or discuss it, I actually read the manga before I watched the anime and only know the barebones of the so-called neckbeard screeching.

Heck if you can rec something similar that you think is better I'm all ears.

shittier character designs, for one.

most of the female characters have doughy, childlike faces regardless of what they're physically shaped like, but it gets especially bad for the cherub character who is clearly an aim to appeal to a certain kind of audience.

instead of one guy getting chased by a dozen or so girls who want to be his One True Love at least interspecies reviewers is about a group of guys who just want to get their dick wet (and do). which is something actually different from the generic harem anime from the past 30 years.

i'm sorry but monster musume is essentially tenchi but with monster girls instead of space aliens.

the voice actors were the ones that had to tell the ADR director what was going on in the series. they knew. this drop did not catch them by surprise.

+1 this isn't about censorship or whatever the fuck nerds are going on about. it isn't even about quality. this is about funi picking up a series they knew nothing about for licensing, treating it like any other mainstream series, and vas not wanting a ding to their reputation as a result of their dumbass mistake.

not just funi, even the network the anime was originally televised on got caught by surprise by the series content.

nothing was "censored", you're still going to get to buy the anime in OVA form whenever it's released, but people who form their entire personalities around being "anti-pc/anti-sjw" have made it their latest weird crusade to make this anime famous, or make it seem way better than it actually is.

the real issue is the studio didn't tell Funi or Tokyo MX that they adapted an ecchi series into full hentai.

Of course, Funi's gonna drop something when it's not what they're told (it's a bit like if Happy Tree Friends' creators sold it to Disney as a cute show for preschoolers)
