rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

it's still dumb to say people can't mention gender or sexuality in the OOC comm though

i know this is all for laughs but covert homophobia always stings in a different way than overt westboro nonsense. like obviously it's completely fine to not be interested in slash and make a point to state as such but because of this a small part of me always wonders if it's not just a personal preference and if it's because they plain ol don't like lgbt people and they're being sneaky about it. it sort of makes me feel like i'm the butt of a joke i'm oblivious to just by virtue of interacting with them unawares. maybe i've run into too many love the sinner hate the sin religious types in fandom...

agree, because you don't expect to run into those types in journal rp, so it's easy to let your guard down and trust that no one's a homophobe

in a way it's gotten worse in recent years because they know they have to hide it to be socially accepted, so you can go a long time without realizing someone even on your plurklist holds onto some pretty nasty anti-lgbt views

right!! i'd honestly prefer they be upfront about it even so i can make a choice not to interact with them. reminds me a bit of the time i spent in les mis fandom. never have i seen so many bible verses quoted in about mes on tumblr...
