rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I brushed aside someone's reputation as I was stepping back into the hobby, got to know her, thought we were friends... and now that I'm writing with people who aren't her and we're even - shock! - in different games!, she's turned out to be exactly as described:

A passive-aggressive nightmare who can dish out "criticism" that amounts to "well I wouldn't have written things like that" once translated all day long but will loudly declare she's being hounded to suicide if someone points out how far her interpretations of certain pretty men have drifted from canon.

man fuck outta here with those self absorbed toxic types

i hate that i have someone with a reputation in my close cr and there's nothing i can really do to avoid them all over mutuals in plurk. i'm like, friends, have some standards please. we all make mistakes, we're all naive at times and want to think better of someone, give them a chance and all. but love yourself too. nobody ain't got time for toxic people like that. got to get that fresh breath of air sometimes so you can know how important it is to take a step back.

l o r d ain't that the truth. Stepping back and seeing how things were... distance gives you a chance to realize it's beyond understatement to call it "not normal" for someone to pin their well-being to a hobby to the degree the person I wrote of does.

I wonder if we run in similar circles... this is someone infamous for making her characters' pain the most important thing in any situation, which gets tedious to play off of after a while, but she doesn't start off with that and so gets plenty of CR built up first.
