rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Why is this so controversial. One WoL OC is fine. I just don't want to play with fifty million different versions of the same character.

If I'm apping Leliana from Dragon Age somewhere, I don't want to have to play against every single Warden from every single origin, either.

if you're not apping to a game that allows doubles then you shouldn't have to deal with doubles. it's a simple as that.

That's hilarious, because Leliana would have a blast with multiple versions of the Warden and Inquisitor. She'd run her little spy feet all over the place, going "so you made this choice? How'd that work out for you?" So she can go back and infomod everything.

Just because the character would be excited to do something doesn't mean that I am.

Your fun is not my fun, so I won't argue, but I do think that's disappointing and would encourage you to be open to things. The perspective I'm coming from when I read this thread is someone who frequently RPs Bioware npcs, and some of my favorite logs came from a game where I was playing Isabela off a rogue Hawke, a mage Hawke and a Merrill whose background had Hawke make some different decisions.

if you say you're not into smut threads featuring vore or whatever, would you think it was appropriate for someone to say "that's disappointing and i encourage you to be more open because *i* enjoy it"?

it's been explained over and over why people aren't interested, good for you if you like it but the rest of us are allowed to not want to play with a bunch of variations of the same character vying for relevance

bioware protags are a slightly different situation anyway, they actually can make different decisions. wol ocs can't.

Just as people who play WoLs are allowed to app into and play in games that have a rule in place allowing them to be there, regardless of whether it "makes sense" or not.

Feel free to ignore them or not tag them if you play an NPC, or better yet not app in at all, but it's a two-way street.

have you been paying attention to this thread at all? people are complaining about frequently having to deal with a dozen WoLs because games frequently accept multiple despite not allowing doubles of any other characters. the point is that they shouldn't be allowed to fill up a whole cast like that if a game doesn't allow doubles and it only happens because the mods probably don't realize it's a role like dragon age's inquisitor where having more than one is technically doubling up. a game intentionally allowing it isn't the same thing as a game letting it happen by accident because the mods aren't canon familiar.
