rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.

hey anons, i need some css help with my adblocker.

simple example: let's say i want to block every div that has an image of a chicken in it. how would i do that? i don't want to block the image, i want to block the div containing the image too. if a div doesn't have the image, i don't want it blocked.

i know i can use something like img[src*="chicken"] to block every image that has "chicken" in the url but idk how to do what i mentioned above.

could be useful for anons who want to hide certain accounts on memes too.

something conditional like this would require javascript

it'd be something like if div contains "imgurl" then div = display:none or something like that

not saying it can't be done but you'd have to use tampermonkey or greasemonkey, it's not something you could do with userstyles/stylus

i'm cool with doing it with userscripts, i just didn't know if it was possible with css.

idefk what to google for my question, lol. "css change container depending on"??? i don't do this professionally obviously.

I haven't made LA icons in 5+ years and none of my animated icon skills are helping me out.

anyone know offhand how to make it where you have your navigation page have no sidebars and nav menu? like a splash page with just your navigation an no fluff?

I'm not great with coding, so some of these instructions may be unnecessary, but here's what I've done in the past to make this work:

Make your navigation entry. Don't sticky it as this messes things up. Forward date it in the future instead so it's at the top of all your other entries.

Use whatever layout you like the colors and fonts of, or the default if colors and font styles are already included in your navigation entry. Go to Organize > Customize Style. Under customize your theme, do the following:

Display: At the bottom, pick "1 Column (modules at bottom; no sidebar)"

Presentation: "Number of journal entries to show on the Recent Entries page" Put "1" in this box.
Unclick these if clicked: "Display the replacement text when no subject is specified in entries, Display the replacement text when no subject is specified in comments"
Make these "text-only:" Select whether user interaction links are printed as text or using the available icons, Select whether entry management links are printed as text or using the available icons, Select whether comment management links are printed as text or using the available icons

Colors: Whatever you want your splash page to look like. So if you want a blue background, make the background blue. All you really need to set is the bg color and blank the rest, and then the text color et al you can do with html in the entry, but if you find out at the end that something is showing that you don't want to (like footer text), make it the same color as your background to hide it without needing CSS.

Modules: Unclick all of these

Text: Blank all of these boxes unless you want them to show. I keep "Edit Entry" and "Edit Tags" since they're only visible when you're logged in and visitors to your page won't see them, but you can blank them too and edit your entries using the drop down Create > Edit Entries instead if seeing them logged in bothers you.

Custom CSS: Make sure "use layout's style sheet" is clicked. Copy and past the following:

.time { display: none; }
.entry div.userpic img { display: none; }

Save changes, check what the splash page looks like, adjust as necessary. Hope that works for you.
