Have done, many times. I still enjoyed the show. Is it identical? No. But it hit enough of the beats for me.

book purists are just as bad as comic purists. yes, there's an original adaptation. yes, it's good. that doesn't mean people can't play from and enjoy the visual adaptation via movie or show. they can both be good.

Considering that the screenplay was written by one of the same still living writers of the book, it confounds me that anyone would get in a tizzy over this adaptation of all things. Gaiman wrote it after Pratchett asked him to while he was dying. Have some damn respect for his choices to make some creative adjustments. He even had a reason for changing to ending, so book purists wouldn't get cocky.

As someone who loved the book for years, I thought the show was great. It respected the source material while adding fresh ideas as well. Plus it's great watching the racists lose their shit over "forced diversity" of the show and ranting to Gaiman at Twitter about it, who promptly shrugged them off. Just when I thought I couldn't love Gaiman more.

Honestly shitty people screaming about forced diversity is the best tribute to Pratchett's legacy I can think of. IMO based on interviews he would've gotten a kick out of it
