do people ever ask you for like. recommendations for a particular fruit or vegetable that works the best for a certain recipe

have you ever been inspired to try a fruit or veggie you've never had before just from seeing/smelling them at work

i get asked for reccs a lot, yeah! usually the people who ask me for good substitutes for things we don't even carry are the only ones that really stump me. i'm not a good cook, so i end up doing a lot of guessing, since they'll just get angry if i say i don't know. when people are just looking for open suggestions, i try to turn them in the direct of things that are in season, or that i know had a good quality shipment come in.

i've def gotten more open to trying new things since working here, some of which i regret. pineapple quince is the devil's fruit and should not be consumed by mankind. dragonfruit is never worth the price. yellow watermelon is the superior watermelon.
