1) again, you've already got all the food you paid for. basically the cook was like "man I'm working on this baller dessert and it's really going to complement my other signature dishes, so come back soon to try it" and then you came back like "is the dessert ready?" and they were like "ah yeah, there's been a lot going on and there are some issues with one of our suppliers, so we dont have it and i'm not sure when it might be available" and then you left a one-star Yelp review saying "the cook at this restaurant is an oathbreaker, do not trust him!!!! give me my dessert GEORGE!!!"

2) Any still-ongoing canon could end unexpectedly at any time for any reason. if your ability to enjoy something is really, sincerely 100% ruined by its being incomplete, to the extent that you retroactively consider any money or time you spent on it to be a complete waste, then you can wait to start reading/buying/watching something until all parts have been released and it's complete. It sucks that you dont get to enjoy it in real time along with everyone else, but if you can't handle the risk that it might never be completed in the way you want, or even at all, then that's your other option.

i'm saying that my impression of this guy as someone who doesn't give a rip about his books or his show is that he's lazy, and that people sucking his dick over it come off as lazy too.

not having an obligation to do something doesn't mean you should let it rot like a lazy piece of shit. he should finish his work or at least let someone else do it because that's the right thing to do from a professional standpoint. it's crazy watching some of you act like commitment is a dirty word.
