Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

pretty much all of this. block anon comms. ignore complaints that aren't officiated or made through direct sources (because acting to fix problems, even real and serious ones, that aren't addressed publically or directly to the mods will get you wanked on like nothing else). if players get chummy with you don't assume they're there to be friendly unless you knew them beforehand.

also, realize that even past everyone having the right to vent, there will be players who just hate everything about your game. there will be players who like one or two things and hate everything else. there will be players who like what they think your game is about and hate every other part of it. realize you can't do anything to please the vast majority of people and stick to your guns, because trying to make small changes to please everyone leads to everyone being upset.

also learn to set boundaries, even if you mod anon and think you're safe with no one knowing who you are. if you have one of those complains-about-everything types friended, quietly defriend them

Thanks for the advice, anons. I'll try to do these things.

I really love running a game, but it gets to me that I always have to feel on my guard and ready to take any kind of criticism, no matter how unfair, like I'm a cashier at a grocery store with a 'customers are always right' manager breathing down my neck.
