Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Lately, in games, I've been seeing a lot of conspicuously skipped tags (with every other tag, both above and below, answered and turning into multi-comment threads). Obviously people have always dropped threads with characters they don't care for, but I feel like the typical procedure used to be tagging them back at least once or twice.

In your experience, has this become more commonplace (and/or do you do this now, when you didn't before) (or have you always done it)? And if so, is it because dwrpers have gotten more comfortable with just Not engaging with someone when they can't think of anything or aren't into it, or because people are missing more notifs than they used to (who knows), or... some other reason?

It becomes more obvious lately. People are not comfortable tagging out anymore either. They stick to the cr they know and/or their castmates.

I would dislike that more than being skipped over completely.

nothing more annoying than getting a scene set up and ready to go then being dropped

Well, I'm referring to in-game stuff like responses to someone's network post or TDM top-level, etc. Not a meme where responding once or twice means someone sets up a whole scenario they otherwise wouldn't have bothered with.

I'm the second anon responding to you. I don't see much of a difference. I wouldn't want to get only two tags to a network post, either. What's the point of that?

idk
I'm not actually saying it's necessarily a better or worse thing, it's just something I notice now that I never noticed before, and I was wondering if other people had noticed it too

that's what i meant by a scene getting set up, mb with the wording

for example, two characters encounter each other, and maybe three tags in something starts happening like idk a meteor is falling towards them

and the thread ends there because the other person decided to stop tagging
