let's talk about our cats. mine has pompom tail now. it's cute...

Mine likes to lick me between my eyes, but unfortunately he does it in the middle of the night and shooing him away doesn't stop. This week I'm rocking a bloody abrasion on my face because he went to town on me (it's not the first time). As of three nights ago I've been rubbing cayenne pepper on my nose before I go to sleep to keep him from doing it again.

have you tried wearing a mask while you sleep?

maybe he's trying to keep the unibrow hairs at bay! or your eyes secrete something delicious? idk

i remember when one of our cats would lick my fucking ears when i was asleep and it started the fuck out of me. i always felt bad when i threw him off of me in my half-asleep confusion

I used to wear an eyemask and he'd just try to get around it. I think maybe he's trying to get at my eye goobers and groom me, but I don't know. He sometimes goes straight for the eyelids. Thankfully pepper on my nose seems to work really well!

Mine has learned how to open the door to our mud room by herself but only because she's fat enough to lean up on the door and push it open with her weight LOL

my allergy meds sometimes don't work as well with physical contact vs pollens and shit in the air. somebody switch bodies with me.

My cat is a sweet, pretty polydactyl kitty (two extra toes on each foot, so she has 50% more beans) who likes to sleep on feet. She also has figured out that the best way to get someone to chase her around (which she always sees as playing) is to stare us in the eye and start clawing at the bed.

so is mine!! he likes to very sweetly and gently pap peoples faces with his big paw when he wants people to pay attention to him but he cant retract his extra claw so he doesn't realize that it actually hurts it a little...i bear it because he is my perfect son and i love him

i demand pics of these extra beans from you and the other anon.

i'm sure the extra claws are no fun when she's kneading your boobs, which all cats with female owners do in my experience. i've never asked any dudes what the dude body part kneading equivalent is tbh...

I'm a dude, but she doesn't knead on my wife! She doesn't knead on people in general, aside from sleeping on our feet at night and occasionally making biscuits on the blankets over our feet (which actually just feels nice).

She does have an easier time opening cabinets and picking things up with her paws (the toes kind of look like thumbs), but aside from that and the extra care we take with trimming her claws, she's a really easy cat to take care of. Apparently, polydactyl cats are known for being rather friendly and easy going.

but I also love my stupid fuzzies and I've been snuggling them extra for it. one is currently a fluffy potato. we have this heart-shaped pillow and she feels the need to lay so that her floof is entirely on the pillow and not a smidge off it. must conform to heart pillow.

the news about grumpy made me really upset too. 7 is young for a cat. i can't help wondering if the stress from doing all those events and talkshows and shit just wore her health down to the point where she couldn't make a comeback from those complications. i wish her owners would've just let the poor cat be a cat instead of hauling her all over like that.

with that said though i know i don't have any personal insights on her so i probably shouldn't speculate. the important thing is that she's a very beloved kitty and that she's not suffering or in pain anymore.

yeah I admit I had the same thoughts but on the other hand maybe with all her complications she was never expected to live past three so seven is great.

going to talk about one of my former cats who passed away a few years back

she used to like to sit on the arm of the recliner when i was sitting in it, and as she settled in and relaxed more she would turn her face toward my arm until she was snuggling up against it

my mom had this red chair cushion that someone had given her and she never used so it was on the floor near her bed. my cat used to like to go into the bedroom and curl up to sleep on the chair cushion specifically. not the soft bed or anyplace else, just that cushion

i've got a heavy furry blanket that the cat liked to sleep on. she also liked to sleep in my lap. she would NOT, however, get into my lap while i had the furry blanket over me. she would sit next to my chair and stare at me in confusion, as though parts of her world had collided in strange and inexplicable ways. only when i moved the blanket aside enough to show her that my lap was underneath would she relax and jump up to settle down for a cuddle.
