Rundown: rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I've had this happen and am not sure how to address it. For example, I'd send a tag that said something like [ Blank had no idea how Taco could do things like this. It was amazing. ] and get something back like [ Of course Blank didn't know, it was a skill Taco created all on his own. ]. Which, if I have Blank say they have no idea how Taco did something, that would make sense. But why take my meta narrative and respond to it? It's confusing.

OOC contact is way more appropriate for spelling errors and such; that's... Strange that they'd have a character ICly respond to something like that.

people make meta commentary at each other in tags all the time

it's almost like we're all humans not trying to take our internet barbie doll hobby too seriously

i do that kind of back-and-forth meta response meant entirely as either humor or flavor text, it's not like it's that deep

i actually find tags more fun if my partners do it back, even, because it feels like the meta isn't getting ignored and flows together a bit

I like feeling like I'm bantering a little with my RP partners as we tag. It's not like it bothers me when they don't respond to my meta, but when they do, it feels like a little adding to the playful part of, well, playing.

i'm gonna agree with you here and say it bothers me too, but it's kind of a pet peeve i guess since they're not technically doing anything wrong. maybe that's how they learned to rp. it's personally not my style and i don't love it myself, but eh. as long as they're not infomodding from your meta narrative it's harmless.
