AU Mystery/Horror game based on the Starfighter comic

Setting: Basic training outpost for the fleet situation in the outer solar system, with intermittent new locations (spaceports for shore leave, planetary surfaces to investigate anomalies or do drills) as monthly events.

Plot: Basic monthly training events and prompts, but with a behind-the-scenes overarching horror/mystery plot players can investigate... or not. Pending player actions, this may lead to the subtle development of novel changes in fighter/navigator pairs who perform exceptionally or underperform, which might include: empathic links between partners, telepathic ability between partners, dream and memory sharing, minor bodyhorror.

Apps: Players can app in as Fighters or Navigators to be sorted into assigned male and female pairs which change every 60 days unless player pairs request a static assignment. Paired characters will be given callsigns, ships, and shared quarters. Players can also app as the brass, instructors, medics, and other staff. Characters in positions of authority will have access to certain amounts of meta, and behind-the-scenes bimonthly objectives to encourage their recruit teams to reach.

Activity submitted bimonthly, 10 log comments, 15 net comments, apps held bimonthly.

This is a stretch, but it never hurts to try.

I have a literal boatload of original characters that I'd like to play in a modern day Japan (or lesser so, South Korea) setting, with my partner having characters/faceclaims to match. I've got a couple future sci-fi settings as well, but fewer characters for that. I've got humans of many types and occupations, as well as a couple supernatural creatures.

I pretty much require shipping at some point and I only write m/m for ships. Also, I use Discord for OOC chat, and I only roleplay over email. I would like a partner who is open to writing smut, but not as a primary focus. People who are chill and chatty with decent availability but an understanding for needing mental health days are A++.

We're trying something new with a beta month test drive, where anyone can join the game this month without an application (just post on the Taken Characters page), and play freely either on the test drive or the game itself. This is to help me make sure I can handle things as a mod, and to see if there are any pages or rules I need to tweak or polish. Feedback during this month is extremely welcome! M/F Pulled Into An Alt World

This time looking for scenarios where one or both parties end up accidentally sucked into an alternate universe of sorts where sex is required or treated differently. Some ideas.

-Getting pulled into a world where sex is casual and someone getting surprised by it is unique. (Can lead to someone finding they like that the person is not familiar.)

-Ending up in a world where one group or the other has full power over another and the new person ends up someone's pet with no one willing to help them.

-A world with mating seasons and arriving just in time for one.

-Drawn into a hentai video game by accident and either ending up as one or all the routes the protagonist takes or as the protagonist that has to get through a route thoroughly before they can escape.

-Magic or something else draws one person into another's dream and they are either taken advantage of or take advantage of the situation.

I'd love to do some Ruth/David, and I'm decidedly unpicky as to how. ♥ Post Legacy-the-2008-one when Ruth's kind of in a snit about the whole "nearly destroying the universe again" thing, during Legacy-the-2013-one, after Legacy-the-2013 one, playing around with the events of the Legion solo / doing something with the current event, ignoring everything that's happened in the last year and just doing fun stuff in generic X-setting...I'm up for any of it.

I'm also interested in cross-medium Legion stuff--Ruth ends up in Summerland, David ends up in Marvel-616, whatever. For that, slow-burn and gen are both fine as well! I'm just itching for whatever iteration of Ruth and David we can throw together, and I love the potential awkwardness there. :D

Looking for podcasts that are less than 30 minutes long per episode. Preferably less than 20 min. I like history, science, religion, and foreign language as subjects. I'll also take fiction podcast recs, but note I tried Night Vale after multiple recs and didn't like it enough to listen past the first three episodes.

Does anyone else have this problem when looking at some rpanons posts:

When I've clicked on the title, the page doesn't give a place to log in. There's the white border across the page (the one that says Dreamwidth at the left side) and usually login is at the right side of it. Now the login seems to be on the red strip above it, but because it's so narrow, it would be impossible to use it. This problem is on several other old posts as well but not all.

recent: character A is play-kidnapping character B, but character B is too willing and too busy flirting with and distracting A for it to properly take off.

within last year: character A allowed himself to be taken as a political prisoner by character B during an invasion; they're obviously physically attracted to each other, but character A is planning on betraying B when the opportunity presents itself.

question: if a character got a name change in the official translation of their canon, would it be alright to use their japanese name?

to clarify, this isn't a sailor moon situation where everyone got a name change and the series is so drastically rewritten as to almost be a different adaptation of the same source material, and it's only the last name that changed so it shouldn't be any kind of confusion for canonmates. I just really hate the localization's name for the character.

i'd like to see more small games where it's feasible for most of the characters to know one another and for that to matter. i know that's dicey because people don't always all get along ooc, but it's really fun when it works.

So what exactly does "sex friendly" mean for games here? Is it just that you're allowed to play it, or does it mean that there will be events focused on it too?

depends on the game. most games that label themselves as sex-friendly will likely try for one or two options every now and then to promote sexiness. otherwise, if you're hearing sex-friendly fromt he playerbase, it's likely that it's just that. it's a game you can play smut/sex in, but it's not required and not urged on by any in-game events.

and others might disagree with that, because we all kind of have our own ideas on what smut/sex/sex-friendly means. a smut game for me means it has smut ac. a sex game means they accentuate sex and have prompts for it, but they don't have a smut ac and you can skate by on ftb entirely. a sex-friendly means it's a game and you can have adult themes in it, along with drugs/alcohol/and sex.
