So I've got a game premise I'm toying with, setting, why everyone's there and the overall goal of the plot all figured out.

Problem is I really hate playing NPCs, and due to times zones and slow tagging speed, me playing them for a game is a pia for players too.

So on the one hand, I could feasibly hunt down some random stranger who is willing to play a bunch of faceless tormentors and possibly some background people for the scenario which will absolutely involve getting a stranger on board and up to date with all the setting information then willing to do all the boring bits instead of just getting them up to date and helping out with stuff I'm already doing.

On the other I'm wondering if I could get away with getting players to dice roll out their interactions with NPCs, tell them the results of the interaction and then hand wave it so they have their information or event that's occurred and can go back to interacting with player characters.

It might be too tabletop or not enough interaction for players though. Maybe I'll have to just shelve the premise entirely and hold out for an idea that doesn't need NPCs.

Might be a long shot but - I have a Severus Snape that I would love to play off against canon-mates! I play a young snape from the marauders era. I have two versions- one genderbent into a female and the other male but AUed where he was sorted into ravenclaw.

I also would love to play shenanigans where either Severus meets the future Harry Potter cast or maybe older marauders??? At the moment I’m really looking to play the fem Severus snape I have but I’m not against playing the male counterpart either.

Let's not mince words: I'm in the mood to play the chick at the center of an orc rape gangbang. A few ideas:

a- She's a defeated knight or other warrior who instead of killing, they kept around for sex. (sort of Goblin Slayer style)

b- She's a prisoner from a raid on a merchant caravan or a village, kidnapped specifically to be a "bride" for the orc clan

c- She's already a slave and the orc chieftain purchases her to give his warriors an outlet

d- Sort of a followup to c, but she's the chieftain's personal slave who he gives as a reward to warriors who perform well in battle or distinguish themselves in a raid

e- Kinda dubconny, but she's someone in a position of power (daughter of a local noble, or something) who gives herself "willingly" to the raiding mob so they leave her people alone

Or something else! idk I'm not picky I just wanna write a gratuitous schlocky orc gangbang

so i probably have a reputation as a flake rn but one reason is that when i tag people i try to tag everyone who responds to me at the same pace, so before i get back to a person i tag back everyone else on the thread first

there are just some people that i just struggle to really respond and tbh i really just want to boomerang with certain people sometimes. i don't want to come across as cliquish or only in it for certain CR, but... i just want to have fun and i realize it's been really stressful for me lately.

idk what to say to people though. should i just say that i'm clearing my tags and starting over? i'm so behind i feel overwhelmed to be honest.

Above all I hope for games where the interdimensional aspect is relevant to the plot and the stakes of the game actually affect characters on a personal level. I get really tired of settings where characters just kind of show up for unclear reasons and the interdimensional aspect/motive isn't explained for a long time if at all.

A lot of the time I end up wondering "why is it important that these otherworldly characters be here as opposed to the gods/aliens/whatever just working with the people that already lived there?" The interdimensional characters being key to the plot, and for the plot to have forward progression regarding that aspect, is the kind of thing I want the most.

Worst of all is when characters are only there because of a magical/science accident that is completely tangential to the game plot. Especially because you already know that is something that can't ever be resolved or meaningfully worked on because it's not the point.

canon review regularly. even just watching one episode (or your medium's equivalent) can help you keep their voice. the rest is just making sure you keep in mind their motivations, growth etc.
