I am a returning player from like... TBC. I caved and bought a token so I could get heirloom gear and level up quickly. Kind of regretting it because I pretty much bulldozed through every continent/EP. I'm happy to be on current content but kinda mad I didn't really get to play out Northrend/Pandaria/Draenor besides like. Two zones.

Did you level before the most recent patch? If so, try leveling a new character now with the zone scaling and all, it helps with being able to experience more. (You'll still get through things quickly but can see more content without grossly out-leveling it.)

I've taken to turning off XP on my alts when I hit certain points so I can experience the content. Especially Wrath and Pandaria stuff, they're my favorites.

It was all post level scaling. I think I only finished Borean Tundra + Dragonblight in Northrend (and that was 60-80) and Jade Forest + just a few quests of Valley of the Four Winds for Pandaria. In Draenor I moved around a bit more and did a little bit of every zone but I felt like I was constantly jumping since Frostfire Ridge took me up to like... 96. With my next too I'm definitely going to turn off XP and actually DO the expansion packs cause it wasn't cohesive at all, lol.

I kind of hated Draenor post level scaling so moving around and doing a little of each zone helped me and I don't turn off XP there (well, I haven't yet but none of my alts are there yet and the two I got through WOD post-scaling were class cannons, so that might affect my opinion). But everywhere else, I've done it, and it helps to be able to experience the storylines. The transition to each expansion is a little jarring without the build-up and pre-expansion events but at least you get the completed story.

Also, anon, if you haven't done so, please go back and do the ICC dungeons and ICC itself. They are totally worth it, even well past the level they were designed for.

ICC is still spectacular all these years later. Good thing I love it since I'm there every week for that mount.
