A couple people, I think. Not many. VIII is one of those games I come back to from time-to-time and sometimes RP from.

Same, I got bitten by the bug and got curious enough to do a poke. Who did you play back in the day?

Squall. Seifer once, he's a douche but he's one of my favorites from the game anyway. You?

Good old Squall, Seifer was my main. Despite all the douchiness I love him.

That's Seifer's whole deal I think. The douche that's hard to hate. Actually, I kinda remember more people hating Zell than Seifer even though Zell's harmless.

Anyway, if you ever try to start up a cast or wanna meme I'm up for it. I can try my hand at other VIII characters too.

Yeah I dunno why Zell always got so much heat, he was one of my favorites even though I couldn't manage a muse for him.

Oooh I'd love to at least do some memeing or something, been wanting to try to kick Seifer's voice back into gear it's been ages.

The VIII cast has such a divided fanbase. I think it's because the characters are extremely flawed and the game doesn't go out of its way to underline which parts of their personality are flawed. It more or less lets you decide what's a negative/positive trait for yourself. Or something. Coherency at this time isn't my strong suit. The only exception to this is Squall.

Sounds good to me. I can make a journal to chat after I've slept. We can shoot the shit or discuss characters or whatever. I'm not picky. I think I'd be up for trying Selphie or Rinoa off of Seifer in addition to Squall but let's see how I feel once I've slept.

I think that's what I really like about VIII is that everyone is naturally flawed but the game doesn't harp on it or even try to "fix" them. Sometimes it's not that simple y'know? It makes them very human. Especially for a bunch of child soldiers.

And dude totally I'm excited. You get some rest it's too early for me too. Also I'd love to bounce Selphie and Rinoa. Sleep well!

Yeah, I can agree with them being naturally flawed. I think the only exception to the fixing and pointing out part is, again, Squall. For obvious reasons. I'm also torn on that part because while it is realistic to leave flaws intact, the game trying to "fix" them would have resulted in some of the side characters getting more fleshed out. Quistis especially, I think. Or Irvine. Quistis has a lot of issues that more or less get swept under the rug, but that might be because the game tried to take too much on and sidelined the secondary characters too early. She had a really nice setup that never went anywhere because of it. Ditto to Irvine.

I'll have to think on Squall and Rinoa usernames but for now I've got this one! Feel free to PM me here. Anyone else interested in RPing VIII can too.

Oh no that I totally agree, Squall got the main focus for his flaws being pointed out and addressed where not everyone else did. Quistis got a tiny bit but I would have loved to see more with her, and poor Irvine more or less got lamped after the initial assassination plot which was a bummer.

Oh ho ho! I may have to have a poke around, I've got one on my plurk timeline I will totally pester too to see if they're up for some fun.

Im too stupidly nervous about how I'm playing my loser ff8 character, but I want to say hah zell and Im glad more people still have an interest in this game ;u;

Aww don't be nervous anon! I'm super rusty myself but I'm glad to see there's still a few of us lurking around.

I've always wanted to play Rinoa, but she has so much hate in the fandom that I never made an attempt. >> Even more so because I want to ship her with Squall.

She has hate here because we had/have a sociopathic Rinoa that stalks FF8 RPers (esp Squalls or characters being shipped with him) and starts wank about them anywhere they can. She has had multiple accounts over 10+ years but she is the root of all wank in LJ and DW FF8 RP, she'll even pretend to be other players.

As a Squall that ships it, I only tag Rinoa players I knew because of her and I know Seifers and others that won't from way back that still play the characters but only in PSLs and never memes. If you aren't her I wish you luck. She's a great character.
