Very welcoming in my experience! I did join knowing a few people, but have amazing CR with a lot of new people I didn't expect would mesh with my character. Come join us!

I like the ideas behind the upcoming event, but I hope it doesn't run two months long.

Also, I was surprised how preplot heavy the mod pitched it to the players? It seems really open ended to me. I'm hoping there's actual prompts instead of just "go for it" like the auction event was.

Not too. Most of the discussion and plotting goes on over Discord.

Don't worry anon, you can survive without it. The cr memes tend to get a lot of use and there are always private messages, just tag out and build cr the old fashioned way and you're good

1. There were no games with the type of premise I wanted to play in. Making my own fun, basically, and sharing it with the class.
2. Having fun with the small things in modding kept me going. Sharing jokes with players, having fun with everyone and watching them enjoy what I created, it was great.
3. Not for a while, but I'll probably get impatient enough with all the games not hitting my wants to make my own again down the road. A while down the road, though. And I would be a lot more careful about choosing co-mods, which was the main issue last time. That, and life hit me unexpectedly so I had time to mod but no time to play, which sucked.

1. Honestly, usually because I want to play in a specific type of game and it either doesn't exist or does exist, but there are things about it (either the players or the characters in or bits and pieces about the setting, the AC, the rules; whatever) that I would prefer done differently.
2. The player responses to things like new games opening, plots rolling out, etc. Player activity and enthusiasm in general, I guess?
3. No, lmao you could literally not pay me enough to go down that road again. As opposed to writing a novel of reasons, I'll tl;dr it: players are entitled infants and I just honestly do not have enough patience to endure that again without cracking in professionalism. Like, I know that in and of itself is a whole separate debate, but I do think that mods should have some level of professionalism and I just...don't have enough patience left in me to do it.

Talking over the Internet from a sancturious comfort is truly an enriching luxury.

interested in apping to this game, but a lot of the in game terms and such are quite a bit to have to register. is this normal or should i "read more" before trying to hit up the tdm? also are people still willing to hit up newcomers?

apparently being into reading makes you a shut-in. but anyway, i've been playing re:birthday song since that was recently fan-translated. i'm looking forward to all the vita localizations this year too

1. If I can think of a world or setting that I'd like to play in and doesn't exist, I would want to mod a game. I'm a bit sad that modding got so thankless in the last few years because there are still games I'd like to run, but I know being a mod is miserable now. No thank you.

3. No. The only circumstances I would would be if anoncomms stopped being the go-to place for players to air their concerns. I 100% believe players should have a place to vent but the way anoncomms became the first place people would go to complain, while leaving mod contact posts and HMDs empty, really ended up making modding a chore for me. I'm not good enough at just not looking and end up feeling heckled by mysterious players who pretend to be friendly and then talk about what an idiot the mods and other players are over minor concerns that could be fixed or talked through if they brought them up in the right avenues.
