rping filthy smut in PSLs

i have the most fun with those threads and i know if i drop these threads i probably won't get such a good setup again, so i stick to them.

and because my PSLs get tagged fairly frequently and i go through all my tags in reverse chronological order, i don't let anything sit for longer than two days unless i really can't help it.

She has hate here because we had/have a sociopathic Rinoa that stalks FF8 RPers (esp Squalls or characters being shipped with him) and starts wank about them anywhere they can. She has had multiple accounts over 10+ years but she is the root of all wank in LJ and DW FF8 RP, she'll even pretend to be other players.

As a Squall that ships it, I only tag Rinoa players I knew because of her and I know Seifers and others that won't from way back that still play the characters but only in PSLs and never memes. If you aren't her I wish you luck. She's a great character.

I'm having a look at enervation and I'm less worried about being canonblind as the anon above me (plus I know some of the canons people are playing from on the taken list) but I want to know how well new characters are generally received in such a small game. Again, size doesn't bother me as long as people are playing, active and engaging, do you find that's the case? And is there plenty to keep who is playing there occupied?

yeah i getcha, i mean like...without the other player being cool with it, or you know how you can just kind of tell when someone is ship-pushing on you versus just playing out their character having a crush because that's how their character is

it's one of those things where i have no idea how to describe the actual distinction, but there's this tonal difference between when someone rps something with self-awareness and when they are completely, obliviously genuine. like, playing the thing because you like morally dubious conflict vs that guy who doesn't even seem to realize that maybe adult character players don't want to launch ships with their young teen

The Sherlock Holmes stuff isn't really the main issue with localization. It's the fact that Ryuunosuke is from Japan and very much implied to be Phoenix's ancestor and the localization takes place in the US.

The other factor is that its a spinoff of the AA series and AAI did poorly in its localization.

Making references to pop culture isn't going to be something that is going to infringe upon copyright. Plenty of canons do this without having to pay royalities. It's making actual use of the work, like if a case played out a post 1923 story. A reference falls under fair use.

Pros: a lot more variety so you can usually find canonmates, tag backs are usually much faster so boomeranging is a lot more likely, perfect for PSL rp, everything about a potential rp partner is in one spot so you just have to check their blog to see if they're bad writers, crazy, flakes, or whatnot, people are more open to AUs/what if ideas/crack writing, lots more meta discussion, actual good writers among the bad writers and once again, fairly easy to spot since its all right there on their blog.

Cons: going back and reading old threads can be a hassle since they don't chain link like DW, you need to use x-kit or the site gets sloppy quickly, not suited to games at all, weird new rules to learn like 'mutuals' and 'exclusive', many delicate flowers though you can usually learn to avoid them because they tend to broadcast.

depends on how you view it: usually pretty easy to avoid drama or watch it from the sidelines and popcorn but definitely a great deal of drama... and sometimes you'll get random rp tagged by someone that makes you think you're back on gaiaonline.

Tumblr really isn't for everyone but my biggest tip would be to make an account, search the character name or canon you're interested on 'most recent' so the rp posts show up and just chill for a month watching everyone else and seeing how they do it. Its pretty easy to pick up and after a month you should have found some writers that are friendly and open that you can PM or IM about doing something.
