I'm a real big reader, but I have that bad habit of buying books, and never reading them as they pile up for months and months. I've still got some from last Christmas I haven't read. So this year, I plan to take time to read more every day, and I'm going to try and stifle the urge to buy any more until the current crop is done. The only thing I'm continuing is my OwlCrate subscription.

I'm bracing myself for slacktivists who think that shitting on anyone who expresses mild disappointment that DW is down will help the Russian bloggers in any way.

Relax. People getting cranky when a website goes down is not a serious threat to anyone.

I'm worried about that, but part of me also thinks that the Tumblr userbase is going to get older too and eventually they'll want something a little more substantial than cracky memes and disjointed random threads. LJRP in its infancy was mostly tiny groups and crack RP, too, so I'm hoping the Tumblr RP community will eventually get a little better.

imo, worst case scenario is that you actually meant it and are just trying to reverse the damage that's been done. best case scenario, you just threw something out in the heat of the moment to get back at them. while you may not have meant it, the fact that you're willing to say whatever just to get a jab in is pretty damning in and of itself.

I wish it was easier for me to pick up new muses. I feel left out and left behind because my friends are jumping on new canon bandwagons and new ships but I'm not feeling the rp spark for any of these characters.

at best expect ads before the year is out because dw's current business model won't be profitable enough to offset the massive uptick in server traffic

this is rarely an issue for me online because the text barrier means i have to both type out and then send whatever it is i'm saying-- it's hard to thoughtlessly throw something out there and then wish i hadn't.

but i do have a problem with this in real life. it's not an excuse, but i have borderline personality disorder, which means i react with sudden extremes of anger to perceived slights. generally, i'm able to keep it under control and not make anyone else pay for my personal issues, but sometimes i'll slip and say something cutting purely because i'm angry and splitting (look that one up) and i'll have to run damage control.

in my experience, no. you can't ever take back what you've said once you've said it. it's out there, and it's already done whatever damage it's going to do-- the best you can do is own it and apologise and recognise that the other person will react however they feel is appropriate. maybe they'll forgive you, maybe they won't. it's up to them, and all you can do is accept the consequences.

I don't know about anyone else but in my time using tumblr I have only seen the userbase getting younger, not older.

I think you can, but if you're forgiven for it, you need to realize that that forgiveness is not inexhaustible, and you'll likely need to work hard to prove you're just a passionate idiot and not a savagely abusive asshole.

I've forgiven friends for saying something that might seem wholly unforgivable and impossible to take back, because I do understand that mental illness doesn't make them a bad person and I'm pretty good at letting shit go, but then cut them out of my life the minute they do it again. I'm not here to be their punching bag through a cycle of abuse, no matter how long I've known them.

I'm a tech novice, but does anyone know how to save a page on Firefox the way it is so I can back up my RP? I don't think things will explode but I wrote fic and rped on gj and I worry about losing all my stuff again or not having access to it.

You just have to leave the "width=300" (or size of your desire, as long as it's the same for all of them) in every image tag, and there should be no distance. Unless you're just looking at the html with the broken image symbols because there's no actual link in that code, because don't worry it will fill out to them all lining up against each other once you put actual images in
