a half dozen new games, woo!

oh no, they all imploded and died within a few months. back to 3-4 megagames whose populations are slowly but surely shrinking before dramatically melting down so a new, shiny game can get zerg rushed before the cycle repeats.

seriously, y'all sound like global warming deniers. it's pretty simple logic that people get older and burned out and quit doing as time goes on, and we sure as fuck ain't getting much new blood these days.

five years, actually. the move to dreamwidth was a deathblow, however necessary it was to get off lj. not an immediate, dramatic death, but with this rp community severed from the bulk of fandom, it's just a matter of waiting for the old guard to wither.

Evil Zone is a fighting video game with a very dwrp premise. A bunch of people with special powers are summoned from different worlds to a fantasy realm to defeat an ancient evil. Some actual know each other as they're from the same world (ei like cast mates) and some are basically lcw as the only person taken from their realm. However instead of really getting into a plot about it the games turns into a fighting tournament tekken/street fighter style knock 'em out.

I've always sort of wanted a game based on it.

Though, it's not really clear what Valve considers to be "too explicit" for Steam. Ladykiller in a Bind was allowed on Steam uncut despite having at least one scene where a character's dick visible onscreen and another where a dude ejaculates onto the protagonist's hand.

I think another part of it is that no one is really sure what Valve finds okay and what isn't so devs make sure only to submit games where the sex is tame enough to fall under an R-rating?

there's zero names worth panicing over. people like pip and ken (not THAT ken) may not be shining stars, but they're not people who are going to make your life miserable either. just avoid them if you're that much of a delicate flower. the game has enough interest at this point you can safely do so.

Dwrp is shrinking. It's much slower. The same few hundred people who still play in games are trying out new ones and yes I see the same people a lot in them. It's just a fact

Because they're thirsty for more otome games which means there's a lot of support this game or we won't get anymore attitude. Which is silly in this case considering how shady and mishandled this whole thing has been.

I'm not giving E2 Gaming any of my money. It helps that I'm not interested in Taishou Alice.

If you don't see a visible difference in traffic and activity on dw in a decline from years past I'm going to assume you'll deny it's getting smaller til the day it's just you and like five people left.

Anoncomms are dying like games are dying it's because there's less active participants. They correlate with each other. Games and memes are not anymore active than before and are in fact slower, just like anoncomms, because less are browsing them.

As one of the "old guard" who started RPing elsewhere it gave me some serious perspective re: RP spaces. There are places that are far more active who haven't even heard of dreamwidth yet if you mentioned lj they know of it.

You're not being disallowed to have fun over here but I shake my head at people who vastly overestimate how active and large we are anymore and refuse to acknowledge it factually when topics like OP comes up.
