How does your OC celebrate halloween, if they even have the holiday? If they don't, is there anything similar that they do celebrate and how do they do so?

She spends it in graveyards scaring the shit out of people. c:

she spends her time agonising over costumes, because she normally wears stupid shit all the time. is it just a normal outfit? or is the 'demon mask with a frilly dress' look a costume? none of her friends know and she gets shitty about it

running back and forth with her spirit guide, helping spirits pass over since halloween is when ghosts are at their strongest and she and her buddy pick them up more easily. they're at their most aware but they're also at their most irritable so.

also doing her best to convince people to not play spirit games pLEASE DON'T DO THAT.

celebrating halloween by making it more fun for kids who are out trick and treating. she'll summon colourful lights to surround the children, make the air smell like candy and sweets, and etc whenever she passes a gaggle of them on the street.

she'll also be doing a lot more work as a magic consultant since this time of the year means she'll be having people call in asking questions about seances, rituals, spells. lot of work but she rakes in the cash so $$$ get it.

oc #3 & #4
throw a halloween party with their friends and loved ones. 3 would be the grumpy adult person who passes out the normal sized candy bars to kids if they go to her house. (the kids almost never do. people are scared of her due to stories but any brave child willing to go there will be rewarded.)

4 would be more interested than 3 and would have to badger 3 into doing a pair costume. (3 is c3po and 3 is r2d2 because of their ridic height difference.) will try to do a scary spooky ritual with friends and try to jumpscare someone at some point.

#1 used to sneak out of the house with her older brother to go trick-or-treating when younger, then when older, pranking neighbours. Her world ended a little after xmas though so she probably won't have survived to the next halloween, or at least I haven't plotted out more than the first month or two of her survival.

#2 doesn't live on earth, but as far as next closest equivalents, I imagine his people have a day when humans are allowed to visit his home city and get to ooh and ahh at how fancy it is, and among his people there are probably those who participate in role-reversal holidays, though he hasn't personally stumbled on them--cities and towns are further-spread in his world and each one tends to have its own routines.

#3 is from the same world, but being from a different city, has different customs. Since they're already into mingling with fresh blood from other cities I think they'd have a day when those within the city (particularly young people) get to play out some serious caste changes; open masquerades at the big palace, probably preceeded with a day of mask-wearing and roleplaying and a lot of making almost a competition of offering kindness to guests. It's hard if you just want to be an introvert but otherwise it's pretty great.

#4 is still new to me, and also not from earth, but since his kind are infected with a virulent disease they are treated like quarantined but useful labour at best and like beasts at worst, so I can't imagine they'd have the chance to get some good treatment. In the capitol they probably get flushed out of their lodgings and occasionally have their shanty town burned down in an awful man-hunt at around the same time halloween would happen on earth, though in villages they are probably more lax--and in fact given that his kind are basically werewolves (so they're only at risk for a day or two a month) are necessary enough to the village's survival that they're made nervously welcome... but his relationship with pure-blooded humans is bad enough that it would not take much for him to say 'boo' and have someone drop a brick and flee, and he doesn't like that.
