What do you guys think of the S2 trailer? There's a premiere today at NYCC too.

the trailer blew me away. Obviously I'm worried about our Black Paladin but oh man! The graphics for the foreign worlds and outer space were amazing! And the music just added so much to the mood. They really ramped it up hard for this trailer and I've got to appreciate that. Very epic feel to things without losing any of what makes it so personal to the viewer.

Since I grew up with oldschool Voltron, I won't be surprised if a certain character does end up biting it.

I grew up with old school too and was completely ready to not get attached to said character just because of that. Except, yeah, I'm attached. Go ahead and shoot me now.

I was actually surprised he survived the first season, since Sven died...what, six, seven episodes in?

part of the goal in reinventing the character, i imagine, was giving the audience a bigger reason to be emotionally invested in his death

the sheith stan tears are going to be delicious if they do kill him off

in b4 the sheith haters blame sheith fans for it and start a new witch hunt

i saw some quote floating around that the show won't get as heavy as LOK did, and LOK never killed off a main character, so i think shiro is going to be safe.

Maybe I've been conditioned by LA trailers too much, but I feel like it's laying things about Shiro on too thick for him dying to be what actually happens

shiro dying would only lead to his being sanctified and made even more boring. it's a much better conflict if shiro comes back and finds that other people have taken the lion's share in leadership so that he can focus on his angst or whatever occupies him, idk

Personally I think it's just a fan theory that's never going to be anywhere near canon but until we hear otherwise some people like playing with the idea of it and I've seen a couple of Galra-Keiths floating around BS if you're interested in exploring that angle.

Oh hey that post actually brings up the rare idea of Keith being half Galra, half Altean!

Guess who was an Altean-Galra hybrid in GoLion? Prince Sincline, who became Prince Lotor in 80's Voltron.

I'm so hoping Keith is Zarkon's son.

idk if it'll never be NEAR canon. while i didn't notice most of this during my first watch either, there is one thing that did call my attention: keith using his hand on the machine, especially when they make a deal of needing shiro's arm for it in another scene. something fishy IS going on, so as far as fandom theories go, this on is pretty solid.

The hand print scanner is weird, but did they miss the fact that he was reeling in pain clutching that hand and it was darkened before the quintessence even touched it? It's a pretty obvious burn from the attack he just took.

Quintessence is life energy. Of course it's going to heal a burn if you dump it on someone.

Anyone you've enjoyed? Just getting into Voltron RP and want to know who I should be looking out for

I've pretty much enjoyed everyone I've threaded with so far and I've see a lot of back and forth on bakerstreet at least. People seem more selective about shipping, understandably, but so far everyone seems pretty upfront about what they do and don't ship as well so that's been nice. I'd say just tag around, you're going to have a lot of people threading back in no time.

hey there, nonnie. I know most people are going to be a little leery about naming favorites here. There are some trolls that like to do their thing these days on most favorites threads. But I do want to say, welcome to the crew and if you want someone to thread with, I'm game. I've also got a lot of Voltron players I've enjoyed reading or threading with as well so feel free to hit me a PM if you're looking for any specific character you're looking to thread with and maybe I can point you in the direction of a few I've enjoyed myself. I'm mostly memes but if you're looking for games with crew there may be someone else can chime in and help you out there. Meantime, we'll all just sit here and chew our nails until Jan 20th right?
