Hadriel player here! There's a good amount of events and definitely a friendly, welcoming atmosphere from both the mods and playerbase alike, but it goes a bit into "horror SoL" if your character is not particularly bothered by the things the gods throw their way, which Kaworu might not be. It's a lovely game and worth a shot for sure, but you may want to skim the last few months of events to see if it'll work well for what you're looking for.

we don't have basements where I live but it really depends on the spider type. Long thin ones can stay, anything that's too bulbous or too big and thick legged at the same time needs to be elsewhere. We had a brown widow infestation at my old house until the long thin slenderman spiders moved in. They're good peoplebugs.
