The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. this is why we can't have nice things

i think it's the same reason everything else has become bad. there's a handful of assholes that just like to shit on everything. whether it's sniping usernames for no reason other than to squat on them (goddamn motherfucker, i wish denise and co. would flush them because fuck you, there's some awesome ones sitting there from 2008), giving troll username suggestions and being dicks to people in help threads, or trolling/spamming the comm in general. some people just think it's funny or that they're pulling one over or winning. it's all they have, man. and that's kinda sad.

I've had like three sniped in the past few months, and it's soooo not fun.

Another idea could be to have a screened contact post on a journal and leave a link to that. One can allow anon there to make it easy for people to suggest without needing to sock it up as well.

I did this, seems like a solid idea since it leaves contact open for both socks and lazy anons alike, plus you have all your suggestions in one place even if you post to the suggestions thread multiple times.

It sucks that people are so fucking proud of themselves for sniping usernames.
