nah it was definitely moba-anons getting defensive and screeching about how ~everyone~ knows what ~moba~ means holy shit how do you not know any casual would know this as opposed to the other way around

like, i'm guessing you're a dude and that's fine, but women have to put up with this kind of second-guessing on their intelligence re: moving picture games all the time so it makes sense as to why that comment was being criticized

i'm not a dude. and people were defensive on both sides. tbh you're kind of being defensive right now by characterizing comments that were already stupid with hyperbole to make them look more stupid.

show me a comment where people making fun of the overinvested moba anon(s) were "defensive"

look, I'm not trying to drag anyone here, I'm just making an observation. if everyone just chills out a little more (and yes, dude pointing out the moba thing needed to chill first) we can avoid crap like this. the point's been super lost by now, anyways.

again, you're talking generalities. give us a specific comment you see as defensive. i've not read the whole thread (because jesus what a clusterfuck) but from what i have read i've only seen defensiveness from the moba side. the worst you can say about the casuals is that they get too aggressive, but as other anon explained there's kind of a reason why people in this community would find such remarks ignorant and objectionable

i haven't been heavily involved in this thread, but i do agree with the basic assertions that (a) "moba" is a technical term not widely not outside the hardcore gaming community, and (b) moba communities are toxic sludge pits to be avoided by anyone that's not a literal dudebro caricature. you yourself even admit the initial moba dudebro "needed to chill", so is there anything you're really objecting to at this point?
