rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. i'm not even a casual, this just isn't my genre. why would someone have this knowledge if they don't care about this type of game?

you have the knowledge enough to know it's not your type of game.

so someone that plays final fantasy or mario kart is supposed to know what it is and that they don't play it? get bent.

... yes? you'd have to know a) what an RPG or racing game was and b) that those games are an RPG and racing game respectively in order to know you won't enjoy them.

not sure what's hard about this. you don't need to know the deepest ins and outs of genres to know what they are, and thus make decisions as a buyer.

rpg, yes. moba? no. it's a specific term that isn't widely used. even i in my infinite game ignorance know what an rpg and the idea of an mmorpg. i did not know what moba was until this thread. that doesn't make me an idiot or some newbie. it just means i have limited interests and if my interests aren't in the game types that fall under moba, i'm not going to come across the term often, am i.

don't bother arguing with this moron, nobody takes LOL or DOTA seriously outside the established communities so they're always extra on the defensive about their shitty games

you may not even know the name, but you know what elements of a game you like and don't like, but you at least recognize it as something you're not into, even if you don't know the name. so you'd be able to look at two games and say "this one is a thing I like, and this one isn't" even if you had no idea what the labels were. that's all I'm saying.

'm not mad people don't know what the term means, I don't play them or really care about them, I'm just astounded people got this mad over what was essentially a nothing point. people looking to buy overwatch or battleborn will probably either know enough about either game's genre to make a decision between the two, even if they don't know the labels, or know the labels and move on with their lives anyways. either way, this thread's an embarrassment to look at, so I'm out.
