The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. tragic: looking at your old abandoned ao3 accounts for shitty fandoms and realizing how much more kudos, bookmarks and praise your half-baked fics have than anything you're actually proud of

I was fandom famous for a fic that looking back is utter ooc shit and it makes me so embarrassed to think about it.

i have a friend who's a bnf in a particular popular fandom on ff.net and gets so much praise and love for her fics that honestly are utter shit. i love her but i also throw up in my mouth a little bit every time she asks me to read or god forbid edit something she's written.

All my shitty Derek/Stiles fic STILL gets kudos regularly and the occasional comment. It is all trash. All my other fic (with het pairings, ofc) still has a total of like 50-60 kudos and a comment each.

Tbh I get why this happens, but it also reminds me of the time where I was writing fic for the good feeling getting attention brought me, and wow is the quality drop obvious on reread.

a piece of me dies on the inside when i get a new notification for my hetalia fics.

i've cleaned out some of the super shitty stuff i've written, kept some of the mediocre popular stuff in case someone wants to reread it. also i like the attention it got.

i've completed abandoned my ffn account. not even nuking it from orbit could absolve me from my sins.

also some of the not so good stuff i've written i keep to see how far i've come. i'm a considerably better writer than i was three years ago, so i keep it for reference.

also because i eventually hate everything i write so i'd just have an empty ao3 account if i deleted everything i didn't like.

even more tragic: looking at your old fics and realizing you used to write so much better. wtf happened?
