rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rpanons is a community on dreamwidth and it's ♫ridiculous♫.

In the year -1,000,000,000, rpanons might not have been here. In the year 2011, it was here, and you could post to it, and some people posted to it. Then, livejournal got rid of subject lines, and a lot of people who hadn't already moved to dreamwidth moved to dreamwidth because there were subject lines.

Honestly the subject lines was only part of the reason. The actual reason was being that igrick guy, or whatever his name was, was a complete ass to the users.

Many were willing to give it a chance, but the final product was awful.

he's still ruining the site, too

it barely works anymore. constant timeouts, lag, messed up ui (for some reason a lot of the links on lj become unclickable for me), ugh.

Yeah, he seems to think his coding is downright amazing and it's really not. But pretty much people would have tolerated his attitude if the coding was actually good. Since it wasn't and rendered the site unusable for many people, games finally decided to migrate.

But really, migration was something many considered and it just needed some reason to get game mods to actually deal with the hassle. It also helped that DW had dropped the requirement for invites at the time as well.

It works just fine for me.

good for you. it doesn't work that well for most of the rest of us.

I'm not the only one as I'm pretty sure I'd hear people complain about it (besides rpanons) if it was that bad.

So now there's rpers on the website, hanging out in between the failed fandom comms roleplaying with the latest technology like meme comms and plurk.

Ding dong, it's tumblr fandom, and they have fandom culture from the future like new stupid icon trends and ♫problematics♫. That means if you are the most problematic, nobody wants to rp with you. And that makes you a wanker.

Rping and wank spread all over dreamwidth. Some of the bigger games were exsilium, ryslig, ataraxion, holly heights, synodiporia, zodion, and mask or menace. But the most important thing was a new anoncomm, anticirclejerk, but it gets destroyed because the mod is dumb.

Knock knock, get the door, it's hateboner, who fucks off and make a new comm just for wanking.
"Please use the wank comm," he said.
"No, we're the same people," said everybody.
"Use iiiiiiiit," he said.
"no, we're the same people," said everybody again, quieter this time.
And so wankgate was put into place, with all the cultural changes that came with it.

"Okay," said rpanons.

So wankgate users came over, ready to post all their deetless wank to rpanons, and shit all over the comm. But rpanons wasn't shut down, so they did it again. And then people finally calmed their tits somehow and rpanons wasn't shut down.
