Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Thank you for the speedy response, anon!

I admit my reaction might have been a bit strong there, but only because I once joined a large game and had all of one person respond to my intro post so it was pretty upsetting.

Glad to hear you're having a good time there, though. I hope I can join you this coming month.

Personally, I would never judge anything by an intro log. I don't even look at them unless a friend has asked it or if a castmate has come in. I'm absolutely happy to tag out to fresh faces, but I hate writing the same premise over and over again, and I've had too many intro threads with new characters who idled out or dropped in the same month. I'd rather wait until people are feeling settled enough to think of staying a while, you know? And I know I'm not the only one.

With that in mind, even if you did join and get only a small response in the intro, it shouldn't discourage you from sticking the month out and tagging around. The game is welcoming, but it's also plot-heavy, and people need to prioritize. We have two events this month and we don't even know how the upcoming one is going to end, which is part of the fun of the game!

+1

i've been in so many games by now that i've just burned out on intro threads in general. i'll tag them if asked or if i get a castmate, but otherwise, i prefer to wait and hit up the character once they've icly gotten settled so i don't have to do the whole "hi, welcome to jamjar" spiel again.
