So you're really excited about a character, you make a journal for them and have tons of ideas for rp, and then... nothing.

What were the reasons you dropped them (almost) immediately?

Mine was an adult version of a teenager and it was difficult to keep them IC.

nervousness. none of my friends knew the canon and weren't excited to help me voicetest. too many of my friends knew the canon/played the character and i didn't want to step on toes. no suitable memes to try them on. no good icons, and i didn't want to make any. i made the account early in the canon, and then i watched more of the canon and changed my mind.

it doesn't happen often for me, but when it does, it's a combination of any of the above.

literally has a completely different personality around particular canonmates compared to strangers, but nobody appears to be playing his most precious canonmate anywhere. not even in memes.

Got scurred because I wasn't feeling up to playing the character at her most conniving in a game setting. Didn't mesh as well as I'd hoped with her.

Made a journal for a character I'd wanted to play for a long time who needs a really specific setting to shine, because I finally found a game that would suit him.

Game closed right after I submitted my app.

fear of other fans of the canon. i can only play from unpopular or obscure stuff because i always feel like i will be judged and found lacking.

i realized that while a game might be fun and more than a few would be a good/interesting fit, i only wanted to play the character in a specific, disgusting ship that's exceedingly ooc.

so, yeah, psls only for that one.

usually i find while i have the ideas, i'm just not that great at playing them imho. i always feel like i'm lacking something or there is some aspect of their personality i'm not fully grasping.

also social butterfly types. i like them but i just don't have the time or drive anymore to keep up with a ton of cr.

I'm still trying, but: there are a hundred and one different interpretations of the character to draw on. The character is culturally relevant in the country they originated from and I don't want to get things wrong. I'm hella white, and even though I'm willing to do the historical and cultural research to back shit up, I'm afraid of unintentionally offending anyone that knows better.

my friends and i keep making so many aus. we keep telling ourselves we'll get back to the characters and yet……….

The movie wasn't out on DVD yet so canon reviewing wasn't really doable, and I felt like I was rapidly losing the character's depth and turning them into a one-note joke.
