Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

i disagree that it's all bound together as "not like you". it's all bound together by having to do with gender and sexual politics.

i guess the other place where we differ is that i code "girl on girl is hawt" as homophobia, too, so the question is just "does fetishization count under the phobia umbrella or does it need to be held separate?" i can see where you're coming from if the answer is no, though.

I disagree with that, because...there's been quite a few instances when people stop being homophobic

but it's really not since...well phobias have always been more about hatred and fear then it was about a fixation. (until like the last half a decade or so.)

Though I can see where you think it is, because it's pretty insulting to be near people that sees "Girl on girl" or "guy on guy" is hawt when talking about actual real people. kinda do wish that fag hags, fruit flys, and dyke stags would drop off the face of the earth. into a rotting pile of filth.

yeah like...as a lesbian, one time in high school i kissed my girlfriend goodbye before classes and a dude in one of my classes was like "i liked your little kiss this morning, it was hot." and then he got really mad and started hating me and shit-talking me when he realized that he didn't have a chance of being included or whatever it was that he thought was going to happen and he basically showed some incredibly homophobic colors (yelling "dyke" at me out of a car around town, etc). so like...that incident is what my brain is reacting to when i react to fetishization, lol. it was clear that a show for him was okay but actually preferring women was not, and i haven't seen much among fetishizers (of either gender) to suggest that their thinking is any different from this dude's, you know?
