The mods have been doing an excellent job and the events are really well-handled. The small size works well for the game plot and mechanics-wise so I wouldn't worry about that. The only thing that can be a concern is the fact that it's a small game so your options are limited as far as CR goes. If you don't really hit it off with anyone in that respect, there isn't really anything you can do about that.

i think those people are idiots for being so overdramatically pearl-clutchy, but tbh i get not wanting to ship her. she's not just short, she's built like a toddler and has the personality of a middle schooler.

i'm sorry about your experience, but shitty people are in every sexuality group. the worst het aces i've seen yell and cry about disgusting allosexuals not understanding their oppression and suffering, and a lot of them can be straight-out homophobic in that attitude, like they're somehow 'purer' than the icky gays who have gay sex.

OP said he's going to be renting a room, so chances are high they already have a microwave there. Honestly, kitchen stuff isn't a good idea in this situation since OP would have to check on what is already provided by the place and what isn't, though dishes and utensils usually are good to have his own set of.

Tell me about the most awesome/hilarious/fun thing you've ever had a character do in a game.

Anons, how do you know when a character isn't a good fit for a game, as opposed to other issues that can make a game unfun - a lack of effort on your part, a string of plotting/planning that didn't go anywhere, the game itself being stagnant or having poor events, or just a regular rough/slow spot?

can you think of things for your character to do? more than just sitting around doing nothing or only hanging out with castmates (if you have any)? if you can actually do something with them that isn't be an awkward duck, then imo, a char can fit in the game. it's the ones that app in chars that have to rely on someone else to do things for them or to open up plots for them that don't fit. if you can't play on your own without cast/hand holding, that char is not a good fit.

i don't subscribe to the 'that genre isn't appropriate for the game' mentality. kiddy chars and goody fluffy disney princesses can totally fit in a horror game. you just have to be willing to play out that kind of angst/stress/trauma and not turn it into a ME ME ME LOOK AT ME ME SO MUCH TRAUMA ME ME ME show. the same applies the other way. you can take dark, fucked up characters and fit them into sol or fluff games. you just have to be willing to actually work around it and find a way to fit them in.

nothing pains me more than someone that brings in a character and puts zero effort into fitting them into the game, then blaming the game for being shitty, except maybe people that aren't the mods of the game trying to dictate what char types they feel are appropriate for any given game. if a player can make a good case in their app for why x char can play in y game, i say go for it. the worst that happens is that they suck and drop, right? they won't destroy the game. i wish more people would just try things instead of being so paranoid or anxious about failing. so you fail. try again. this is fantasy, not real life. you have as many do-overs as you want. 1up.

Are there any good games out there that let the Vault Hunters mostly be, like... themselves? I don't just mean getting to keep their guns, I also mean the canon's propensity for wacky, casual violence. This is more for main series characters than anyone from Tales.

Medium, I'd say? We have about 115 characters in-game but we've had 24 IC posts in the month so far, if that gives an idea. The two mod-posted mingle logs each month get to a couple hundred comments at least, and we backtag pretty much into infinity if you want to.

do anons have any tips on getting into a long distance relationship? everyone in my area on dating sites doesn't mesh with me and i'm completely open to a ldr. it doesn't help that i'm trans and there are only so many other bi people in my area, much less bi people who are likeable.

i'm a member of okcupid and i frequently check out people in other states but most people that seem cool are only looking for friends/relationships near them. :( it'd be nice if there was an option to only show me people looking for other people "anywhere."

i will not date someone from dwrp. too risky.

- Do you have a lot of trouble coming up with ways for your character to productively interact with plot and setting elements? (Not just "was last month's event a dud," but "am I completely at a loss for ways to engage this character in this game other than the kind of generic CR stuff I could do with this character in any game.")

- Do you find it unusually hard for your character to click with other characters you thread with? Game fit is as much or more a factor of available CR as it is a factor of game plot and setting.

- Can you think of other characters that would not have these problems in this game?

If the answer is yes for all three, your character is probably a bad fit. Sometimes the way you play a character just won't click with a game, and there's no shame in dropping them and trying someone else.

my songs for characters never make any sense, because it's always just whatever i was listening to at a point when i got excited about them.
