Trapped in the city of one loo

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

no? where'd you get that from? maybe if you count the little things that don't mean much, but not in the things that really matter. you know, like the iraq war where thousands of our servicemen and women died for basically nothing but a lie?

a little place called the new york times. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/28/upshot/the-senate-votes-that-divided-hillary-clinton-and-bernie-sanders.html?_r=1

they have divided on some issues that do matter but the whole idea that they're so different is mostly just a matter of rhetoric.

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
not really. some issues are more important and signify a larger ideological difference than others.

"Little things that don't mean much."

so we're finally throwing out every one of Bernie's accomplishments?

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
charming, but no.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
he's done nothing important

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
yep, nothing ever ever ever. he just sits in congress and jerks off.

none of the things. ever.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
pretty much.

making amendments to laws that the in power side of congress would love pretty much just jacking off at this point.

not to mention a lot of people in the civil rights movement hated him for being a fair weather protester and was the kind of man MLK was talking about when he yelled about white liberals.

and giving blowjobs to big corporations is totally the better alternative.

bernie sanders voted against a nationwide amber alert and was one of only 12 people in all of congress to do so. i guess protecting children from predators just wasn't on his progressive agenda. also, in all his years in congress, he has only ever successfully authored one bill, which was co-authored by john mccain. and this is to say nothing of his wife recently going to visit joe arpaio and giving him good press. also, vermont transports prisoners out of state to send them to for-profit prisons. still waiting for him to disavow his statements about castro, too. and the icing on the cake: his campaign is currently being investigated by the FEC for illegal donations. sick of people acting like he's some saint who always stands on the side of good.

i like a lot of bernie's talking points in this primary season, but one thing i absolutely cannot stand is bernie stans insisting that he's a perfectly flawless candidate who's never done anything wrong in his entire career. yeah, he marched with MLK, but he's done absolutely nothing for social justice rights since. he's notoriously stubborn and near impossible to work with because he refuses to compromise, which isn't a good quality in a president. the entire set-up of the government for this country was based around compromise.

i would vote for him in a general if he got the nomination (which he won't), but seriously the hillary bashing alongside the deification of saint bernard is fucking ridiculous. they both have flaws. there will never be such a thing as a perfect candidate for president.

it's so easy to throw something out without researching, isn't it? yes, it's totally because he hates protecting children. totally.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
But Sanders voted against the Amber Alert bill because he felt its sentencing provisions were an unconstitutional intrusion by Congress, taking power that should rest with the judiciary.

okay so he was voting to protect the rights of child predators as opposed to voting to not protect children. whoopdie-do. huge difference there.

btw this is exactly the kind of shit i'm talking about wrt his being notoriously difficult to work with and unwilling to compromise.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
you read one sentence out of that whole thing?

yes, go ahead and tumblr your way through this discussion. that's totally helpful. don't talk about compromise if you want to stick your fingers in your ears.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
i read the whole damn thing. there was nothing else in there that explained his vote. that was it. that was the explanation. he was for the idea of an amber alert but wouldn't compromise when it came to protecting the rights of child predators. what the fuck more do you want from me?

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
well, for you to stop throwing around that "omg he loves child predators!!!" tumblr bullshit for one. he's not some cartoon villain rubbing his hands together and cackling as people rape little kids. it's just not true and is a childish way of arguing.

it's like supporting trump's wall and claiming that anyone who doesn't supports rapists.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
i'm not saying he loves child predators. i'm saying that his vote was based around the idea of protecting their rights. because that's what it was. i don't really see how you can argue anything differently. he was worried about the sentencing provisions in the bill overstepping their boundaries. and don't get me wrong, i understand the mindset behind wanting to do your best to uphold the constitution when you're in congress like that. but when you prioritize that over putting out an amber alert? that's when i side-eye you. that's not a good decision. that's the wrong priority and the wrong stance to take. and before you even say it, "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy.

and btw i find it incredibly hypocritical of you accusing me of covering my ears tumblr style while completely ignoring the entire rest of my comment. it's not just the amber alert bill that i raise issue with wrt bernie sanders. and in addition to all that other shit, i'm really annoyed with the hypocrisy of his campaign now saying that their path to the nomination is to win over superdelegates, which they've spent the past like 10 months railing against. so, superdelegates are only okay when they vote for him? but when hillary uses them she's an establishment whore? what the hell kind of double standard is that?

he's not perfect. that was the point i was trying to make in my original comment. he's not OMG THE FUCKING WORST WHO HATES CHILDREN AND WANTS TO SEE THEM ALL KIDNAPPED, but he's definitely not the best thing since sliced bread. he has very real flaws, just like hillary does, and that's okay. i just think it's stupid to tear the other candidate down, regardless of who you support, knowing that your candidate ain't smelling like roses, either.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
nobody said he was perfect and the best thing since sliced bread. some of us just like him more than hillary.

jfc, thanks for proving my fucking point, you squalling infant.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
oh please. there's an anon upthread talking about hillary's iraq vote as though bernie sanders never made a bad decision either. you don't have to say the actual words "he's the perfect candidate" to get your message across.

the only one squalling here is you. you literally came into this thread to defend bernie's amber alert vote, and now you're calling me names for pointing out that it's a fucked up priority to have.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
no, they were talking about one vote.

how you got "bernie is never wrong ever" out of "at least he didn't vote for the iraq war" is a question for the ages.

keep fucking that chicken with those goalposts

but seriously did you even have a point? what was your point, other than bernie's amber alert vote was justified? what point did anon even prove idgi

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I... didn't know any of this.

Joe Arpaio is complete scum. I don't normally wish harm on people, but I want to see that fucker roasted alive in some sort of divine retribution. I'm pretty disgusted right now, ugh.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-20 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
Lol az anon, his wife went to see up close the human rights abuses and criticized him? I actually hate bernie but this is an uncritically spread lie by hillary followers on twitter the moment they caught wind of the wife visiting. Like the fabrication Dolores made against bernies voters all slitting racist things at her that turned out untrue.

(Anonymous) 2016-03-16 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
a comment like this is utterly pointless without examples

(Anonymous) 2016-03-17 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
